I have been to many neurologists and Dr. Shepard is the best of the lot. My internist referred me and spoke highly of him and she was right. I have never written one of these reviews before but I have been to some bad neurologists so now tha I found a good one, I wante dto let people know about him.

This Dr. was very professional, obviously knows what he is talking about and has a good personality. I plan to keep seeing him. The best neurologist I have seen in Illinois.

Dr. Shepard felt emotionally detached to me. The first time I saw him he was very thorough. I got the sense from him that he really enjoyed the process of diagnosing. However, his treatment leaves much to be desired. He barely looks over my chart anymore and was even confused about what medication he had previously prescribed. When I asked him if there was a possibility I am suffering from something else he said no and refused to discuss the matter further. He also didn't seem like he cared that much and only spent a couple minutes with me. I waited 20 to see him. I wouldn't recommend him for pursuing a treatment plan, although I do think he is very good and very thorough at the process of diagnosing.

My experience with this doctor was great. I only waited a few minutes. He was friendly and smart. He took plenty of time answering my questions and was very thorough. I would strongly recommend him.

I'm surprised to see negative ratings of this doctor but can only say that my experiences with him were very good. He was engaged when we talked and was very reasonable about pursuing various treatment options. (On one visit he even brought a colleague into the examining room, which I was pleased with) He can be mildly detached, which might disappoint those hoping for very touchy-feely interaction, but he struck me as thoughtful and reasonable. RECOMMENDED!

I was impressed the first time when I met Dr. Shephard when my fathers Nuerologist retired but then I was completely disatisfied and pissed off.My father and his Caregiver sat in the Clinic room and waited over an hour for Dr. Shephard to see him. My father became agitated and decided to leave. A woman on the doctor's staff recognized my father and asked how he was. They explained they were leaving because the doctor had not seen him yet. She walked him back to the room and alerted the doctor of the problem. When he finally saw my father he did not apologize for the delay instead he had an attitude. He then proceeded to say that by just looking at my father that he was depressed, which he wasn't. Correct diagonsis is that he was Pissed-off. I am sure that the rest of his appointment was hastliy and poorly done. When I was informed what happened I contacted my father's Primary Care Doctor and told him what happened and I asked for another Nuerologist. See Dr. Zoran Grujic instead.

I do not recommend this doctor. He misdiagnosed me, even when I asked him to explore the possibility of something. Said he was 100% confident it was some other silly diagnosis, and now I am paying the price. He also misdiagnosed a friend. Be careful - go elsewhere for a more thorough opinion. He is nice, so easy to believe, but I don't believe he is the most intelligent neurologist out there.
