After waiting 3y for a referral I was very disappointed by the treatment I received, he said based on my symptoms I probably had endometriosis. He did no test to confirm that diagnosis and said my only option of treatment was the mirena IUD, when I asked about other treatments he said there was no other options before I tried the IUD. He was very condescending and rude

A real professional, knowledgeable, caring, organized, clear and direct. He cared about the past trauma I had experienced with previous doctors, explained clearly the options and his approach and his exam methods. He was genuinely happy to discuss my progress, reassuring and very supportive. Yes he was firm and business like in the first appointment, like most specialist doctors are. But I felt like I was in very good hands and seen as a full human being with real issues. Would trust him with my issues again.

I was sent there for an endometrial biopsy. Dr. Garcia webt over my file and then explained what he would do as part of the procedure. So far so good. This is a painful and uncomfortable procedure so I asked if he can freeze the location and he indicated that procedure is just as painful but never mentioned other options. Like all the other comments he mentioned my weight which I know is not ideal but it's the delivery of the message that seems to be the issue. He never explained any risks nor did he tell me what to watch out for. I had to google it once I got home. You literally have to be advocate for your own health these days. Drs just seem to do the bare minimum.

Took really long to explain basic things but refused to give answers to my questions (because his schedule was too tight). I asked if I could have a pill to push my period as I'm anaemic and I had to travel and my period makes me really tired. He said it was too late in my cycle, that I would have to start the pill earlier. I have done this when I was younger and it didn't seem to match my earlier experience, but since it's a long time ago I wasn't sure. As soon as I stepped out of there I googled it and of course there's a pill and you only start to take it 3 days before (not a month like he claimed). Had to pay $250 at a private clinic to make sure that my trip didn't end up being a waste.
It's not a big issue, but I also have other issues that need to be dealt with and I just don't trust him because of this. I will be looking for another doctor.
From the other comments it seems he body shames people (unreal) and just to say that I didn't experience that (maybe because I'm skinny?) - but he's still incompetent and rude.
I'm sad the system in QC is so bad - it seems to push the doctors to the brink, but patients should not suffer from rudeness still. There's a lot of talk about health care workers needing respect, which I totally agree with, but at the same time I've experience quite a bit of rudeness from the care workers themselves and that will of course escalate the situation. Yet, it's the patients that get blamed if there's an issue.

Today, I saw Dr Garcia in Delta Sante clinic in Gatineau. I decided to rate him because I have met 5 doctors in Gatineau till now that are special for that they are patient, understanding and analysing all other health problems to find a connection, have kind hearts, honest, really want their patients to recover and survive longer. The real doctors that care for their patients as if they were their beloved ones. Dr Garcia is one of them!!!
I was surprised when I have read some negative reviews about him but it's misunderstanding because when you see him the first few seconds, you find him fast and some people will think he doesn't respect them while the fact is that he is trying to learn more about your health in general so he can finally gives you the correct treatment that you need.. It happened to me when I met him today for the first time, but I just follow him till the end and I got the correct diagnosis and the safest treatment for the bleeding I have. That showed to me how much he is intelligent and professional. He was patient in explaining to me all. I found him genius, knowledgeable, with kind heart, care for his patients and able to know well about his patients in one appointment!! If you get the chance to meet him, just follow him till the end as he really cares and will provide you with the best treatment and don't judge him from the very beginning because you won't be able later to follow him...

Had a visit for unexplained bleeding with Élio and he guided me on options which reflected on my age and health.
He suggested me to get Mirena and get samples of my uterus. The procedure went more than well and he talked me through everything with minimal pain.

Couldn’t ask for a better gynaecologist.

Thank you Élio and team.
