If this website allowed me to give zero stars, I would. However, one will have to do. This doctor is a disgrace to the medical profession. I was referred to him after two traumatic miscarriages, and a post infection that developed in my uterus. Prior to my appointment I was admitted to the hospital due to serious pain and abnormal bleeding. The hospital confirmed I did in fact had endometritis, and they gave me antibiotics to treat the infection. I had an appointment with Dr. Poungi the following day, where I was finally hopeful that I would have a reputable gynecologist follow up with me on my case, at the very least, until the infection was cleared. During the consultation, I showed Dr. Poungi all the tests and requested a follow up with him and a follow up ultrasound to ensure the infection was gone. I was still in a lot of pain at the time. He looked at the papers and snickered. He claimed that I did not have an infection, that he “didn’t believe it”. He didn’t believe the hospital papers that were presented to him. Rather than offering follow up tests to prove his claim, he denied any support. I ended up repeatedly pressuring him to order and ultrasound. After multiple times asking, he hesitantly gave me one, with a different unknown doctor’s name on the chart to follow up with on my results (by phone). He then refused to book any follow up appointments with me. The receptionist was even surprised I had no follow up appointments booked. Needless to say, this entire experience was traumatic and left me in a constant state of anxiety and depression. Till this day I have no one to follow up on my case, and it left me feeling worthless. The Quebec health care system is in shambles, but even if you pass the ridiculous wait times and hurdles, you can be assigned to a doctor like this, who in my opinion should not keep his license due to medical malpractice. Worst doctor in the western world, you have been warned!

Dr Poungui a mis ma fille au monde et lui a sauvé la vie considérant qu’elle était en détresse. Il a également mis mon fils au monde par césarienne et tout s’est très bien passé. Il est très gentil et professionnel! Très bon gynécologue!

Coté organization ce médecin est un peu en manque, retour d'appels, résultats de tests, notes prise au dossier manquant ou simplement differs de rendez vous antérieur. A un bon potentiel mais malheureusement comme beaucoup d'autres a une touche d'arrogance et nos point de vue sont mal reçu. Décevant pour la region de Gatineau avec le manque énorme de spécialistes.

Having extreme anxiety, dr. Poungui let me feel those emotions without making me feel like I was irrational. Had emergency drainage of a cyst, and he was absolutely wonderful. Really made me feel comfortable and that everything would be ok.
