Incredible diagnostician. Took a long history and then came up with a very logical plan. Our daughter loves him and is much better.

Best doctor I have ever had, this man changed my life, and became family.

We inherited Dr. Stathos and his team after getting admitted for silent aspiration due to a failed swallow test. His team was not in good communication with the other specialists we were seeing at Rocky Mountain Hospital for Children that caused set backs in my baby's swallow. His team was aggressive in giving my baby a NJ tube rather than NG. Another Dr in his practice declined to do an endoscopy when my baby was already under anesthesia. He and his team came by daily pushing for a nissen fundo. He is charismatic and could convince me in each conversation but after doing my own research, I wanted a second opinion. Felt that I was held hostage at this hospital and seems like they are nissen happy. He shared that a surgeon would not place a g tube without the fundo. A blatant lie! When asked about a GJ tube, he gave a crappy excuse about how hard it would be to line up his calendar with the main surgeon at this children's hospital. The nurses at the hospital were incompetent and I had enough. As much as I liked Stathos as a person and he is very convincing, I knew that his team did not do the due diligence to support such a invasive surgery. To them is not a big deal since they do them daily. It was not important to them to see if my baby actually needed this. They seem to me a one trick pony that does not explore all options before going to the most extreme. I did not want to take the risk of being the 3% that had complications with a Nissen Fundo. Since then, my baby was able to move to an NG tube and we are likely getting a g tube WITHOUT the nissen. Glad I listened to my mama instincts.

Great Dr with an awesome bedside manner. However, he is so busy that it sometime affects his ability to give each patient the time and attention they deserve. Also, the office not very helpful when items need to be dealt with outside of appointments. If you need to call with a question, you might get a call back with an answer but not necessarily from the dr. Despite these complaints, I would still choose him for child's gi physician over the others in the area. He is consistently ranked by his peers in Denver as one of the top docs in this field.

Theodore Stathos caused my son needless pain and suffering. My heart goes out to any parent who takes their child to this doctor. I would not recommend him. There are better choices in the Denver area.

Dr Stathos dismissed my son from his practice after 10 years of being his doctor because I asked to see medical records in order to try and get a second opinion. Some of the specialists he sent us to found some aspects of my son's care were handled very poorly. He ended up doing us a big favor by facilitating us finding better doctors.

Dr. Stathos has come through for us again! Unlike other specialists who were self-absorbed and allowed their own prejudices to drive their decisions, Dr. Stathos' compassionate, unprejudiced, supportive and caring interactions has had a tremendous positive impact on my son's improvement. A decade & a half ago, Dr. Stathos saw my 3-year-old daughter with no delay once referred and provided the simple immediate relief that other narrow-minded doctors failed to accomplish after nearly a year of treatments. These things set Dr. Theordore Stathos apart and far ahead from mainstream doctors. He's a great doctor and good human being.

Dr Stathos can be very charming and SEEMS to be genuine and care about your child. He can make you feel confident in his abilities with his charm. He is capable of handling less complicated GI issues but not most complicated problems. He is not secure enough to take outside opinions when he can't help your child with complications outside of routine care. He has tried to make certain with several families that I know, that no one discovers his mistakes and done some very unethical things to cover the errors he has made. Don't be fooled by how nice and caring he seems to be.

Dr. Stathos was incredible, I found him after I checked the local best doctors list. He was booked for 8-10 weeks but worth the wait. My son has crohns disease and we feel he is getting great care now.
