SKY RIDGE MEDICAL CENTER

I arrived early for an 0800 check-in. I waited forty minutes in the registration area until someone informed me that the insurance company had not approved me for my scheduled surgery. I knew this was inaccurate, as the Doctor's Office had sent the insurance approval twice to Skyridge Medical Center, the last time being four days before my scheduled surgery. I searched by email to locate the insurance coverage approval and forwarded the email to the registration office. I then called my doctor's office and received the insurance confirmation number I provided to the Sky Ridge Registration Manager. I spoke to the registration manager, who initially denied that Sky Ridge had received insurance authorization. When it became apparent that the registration office had dropped the ball on insurance, the manager apologized profusely. By then, I was late to enter the pre-operation area, and the doctor learned that the doctor was waiting for me. I told the Registration Manager that my first impression of the hospital (in Registration) diminished my confidence in having surgery at the facility, which was true. Thankfully, the surgery and recovery teams aided me through a safe surgery. The facility was not clean, and the recovery area smelled of urine.

This place needs to do a better job of heating their ER . When your sick and have to come in its bad enough waiting do long. But when your wife is freezing also and you’re looking for a place that’s a little warmer. This is not good.

My wife suffered a stroke that we discovered after going to Sky Ridge. They were incredible and if anything ever happens to me, I hope I am near this medical center. The doctors and staff act like they really care and they know what they are doing
