One can not find a better doctor. Professional, pleasant and with an obvious thick, thick knowledge of his stuff...Thank you!

I went to see this doctor with several symptoms that nobody could diagnose and treat. Fantastic specialist! He was very professional and polite, He even apologize because he could not shake may hands due to COVID protocols. Very focus, methodic and effective.

Was not very friendly and a long wait time. Didn’t listen to my concerns and I felt brushed off.

I saw Dr. Cartagena for the first time just a few months ago. He was very careful check my undiagnosed condition in quite a detailed manner, looking at all the various issues involved. Most of all, he really cares about his patients. One can see how immediately he gets on the phone getting results, answers from other doctors opinions, etc.. He eventually found what others have not been able to find in years. Gave me a treatment that turned things around for my life and follows me every few months. Most respectful and pleasant. A great doctor!

When I went to see this doctor for my previously diagnosed arthritis, all he was obsessed with was diagnosing celiac disease. He went so far as to order an endoscopy just to prove celiac disease even though I had no symptoms. He performed the worst scope I have ever had in my life, such a rough individual. His knowledge is lacking. I had to tell him multiple times that I was on blood thinners, and then he went so far as to dispute with my specialist in Winnipeg as to why I was on blood thinners. After the scope, I had one of his secretaries phone me, tell me he believed I had celiac disease and to stop eating gluten and that I wouldn't be his patient anymore since his mission was completed. I had to go find an actual arthritis doctor in Winnipeg and sit on a waitlist again! Also the scope results showed damage that could have been caused by the NSAIDs I was on, not 100 percent certain celiac disease. This guy is obsessed with celiac disease by the way, even if you don't have it he'll tell you that you do.
Just go to Winnipeg and see someone more experienced and without the "God complex".

Dr. Cartagena is the best. His vast knowledge resulted in a significant improvement in my quality of life. After years of attending specialists in Winnipeg, I moved to Brandon. He was polite and pleasant although very meticulous. He asked me questions from head to toes and also examined me from my scalp to my toes. He told up front that his job was to give an opinion therefore he had to do a baseline evaluation rather than to accept what someone else has done. He put my illness together with less drugs and more effective treatment. I am so grateful to this doctor.

This man saved my life!!!! When my health hit an all time low and I was hospitalized, he was pulled in to consult and had me on the road to recovery in a matter of days after suffering for over a year. No one knows how much I love this man for giving me my life back! Him and his staff are amazing! They always great me by name and when I'm having health issues I can call and Dr. Cartagena gets back to me almost immediately, even when he has been on holidays now that speaks volumes!!!

Dismissed my positive-indicating lupus blood test completely as well as several major autoimmune symptoms, chose to focus on the scars on my legs that he called a "rash". Sent me to a dermatologist who confirmed they were scars and a waste of time.

Recently, I went to see Dr. C with my mother. This was the most rewarding experience! He gave her an urgent appointment despite of his long waiting list. He was very careful, comprehensive and polite. At the end I felt a real expert with all the information he gave to us. His treatment plan has worked very well. My mom and I think that this doctor is simple the best doctor we will ever meet. We are so glad to have doctor like this in our community.
