All 3 of my kids have gone to Dr K since birth and I continue to be just thrilled with the care he provides to them! He has the best bedside manner and is so patient with all my questions. He always takes the time to listen and doesn’t make me feel like a crazy mom. Thank you Dr K, Debbie, Barbara, Jennifer and the rest of the staff at Activekidmd!

Dr. Gladsein is our primary Dr. and we have a lot of respect for him and he had always done a thorough job when treating my children. Unfortunatley, we had to go to Dr. Koutures (since Dr. Gladstein wasn't there) for a breathing problem he misdiagnosed with my daughter. It almost cost her her life! On a much lighter note he also handled my other daughter poorly and left an earring in an infected ear, sending us home with antibiotics. I went back to him the very next day concerned that it had gotten worse and that the skin was growing over the earring. He told us to come back a few days later if the antibiotic didn't work. Well, the very next day her ear was black and earring nowhere to be seen. I took her right away to a plastic surgeon who promptly dug out the earing. It then healed nicely.

Dr. Koutures is wonderful. But his staff (for the most part) and his partner, Dr. Gladstein, are the pits. See comments under Dr. Gladstein to see what I mean. As much as I like Dr. Koutures, going to his office means dealing with his cold (verging on hostile) staff, not to mention the possibility that Dr. Gladstein might be filling in for him--the coldest, rudest, roughest, doctor/pediatrician I have ever encountered, or even heard of, in all my life. NO THANK YOU!

I think Dr. Koutures is a good doctor. I have been taking my children to his office for 8 years and have been impressed with his knowledge. I trust him to give me options in treating my children.

Dr. Koutures is a good Dr. However the front office staff HORRIBLE! Go to another Dr. if you can because you will be treated better! I had gone to this Dr. for 9 years and recently had to find a new pediatrician because the from office doesn't know how to bill insurance companies. I waisted 2,000 minutes going back and forth with their office and my ins company to get bills paid- Plus they charged me a co-pay (double the amount) for well-baby visits and when I called to get my money back they told me they were withholding it for payment to transfer records to the new pediatrician because they FORCED me to change Doctors! HORRIBLE HORRIBLE customer service- the front office sucks and Dr. Koutures has lost 5 patient just in my family alone- so sad- he needs to open his own office.

The staff is ok. I think they are not that friendly maybe because of my Asian race. I notice they are a little more friendly to the Caucasian patients. I can understand why because majority of the patients are Caucasians. But the British nurse is not friendly at all. I think that is just her personality. A few times when I went into the office......I would have to wait a few minutes because they didn't help me right away. Dr. Koutures does not seem friendly because he does not smile often like Dr. Gladstien. But he does explain everything and answers questions patiently. Dr. Gladstien is more smiley than Dr. Koutures but he talks too fast. At times I feel that he is impatient and that makes me uncomfortable. To me an ideal pediatrician should be very patient, very friendly, happy, smiley, and excited to see children, (especially). For example......a pre-school or a Kindergarten teacher.

I think that I stay with them because they are close to our home. Pros - online scheduling, weekend appt's, no waiting, separate waiting rooms, competent staff. Cons - cold personality of Dr. Koutures, nasty british nurse, never getting prescriptions for kids. However, I still go to him...

Straight forward staff, with very well run office. Never a wait, never a problem to see a sick child, even on the weekend. Dr. Koutures is very knowledgeable, takes the time to listen, and carefully reviews child's history. The separate waiting/examination rooms (don't leave with more germs than you came in with), is wonderful. Would not take my children to any other doctor/practice.
