I got addicted to pain pills @ his practice. He treats addiction too. And gets folks hooked on ketamine. It’s not safe to mix suboxone with ketamine. He’s gonna kill someone. Plus word is he dates pretty patients.

I’ve been a patient at this office for many many years. I’ve never had any bad office visits. Until today, there’s a PA and she has the worst bedside manner I’ve ever encountered. Her reply with me talking about my pain was “you ought to see mine”. She kept cutting me off during my entire conversation. Kept telling me to talk to my therapist about my pain issues and how to deal with them. Isn’t that why I’m going to a pain management group?

All I can say is she only wants a 5 min visit with you. She wants to be bossy and pushy. don’t try and ask why or what else can you do. Is you ask how painful the injections are her response is “I’m not saying because you focus on the pain too much”! Good grief. I’m a very understanding person but I don’t like being bullied at all. And that’s exactly what happened on this office visit.

I didn’t write this in haste. I waited a couple days to let the conversation settle in. And she is completely rude and her comments weren’t called for at all.

The front office personnel are top notch. I’ve never dealt with anyone in the front that was rude to me nor habe I witnessed them treating anyone else badly. They are always courteous. The nurses that have been there awhile are very helpful and polite. The nurses that are just filling in or are “passing through” can at times be a little hurried and don’t want to be bothered with your issues.

All the other PAs and drs that I’ve dealt with in the 10+ years I’ve been there are excellent and yes they all have their bad days but there has never been a time that I’ve been treated badly at all. Until this recent visit. I wish I could remember her (she’s a PA) name. But she has short hair and should have never been given any type of license that deals with a person having chronic pain. Her bedside manner is the worst I’ve ever seen. I’ve never met someone in a physician setting that talked “over” me and wouldn’t listen to what I was saying.

Steer clear of this one. If you’re wanting to change your meds or have a conversation on how to best deal with your pain. Because according to her, “talk to your therapist about how to deal with your pain issues”. “It’s not her job”.

I’ve been a patient in Dr. James’ clinic for several years. I transferred there from another physician who treated me horribly, so much so that I worried how this clinic would be. My impression of everyone at the front desk has been 100% positive. They are helpful and friendly. I have never had anyone out front be rude to me in any way.

Dr. James has been friendly, straightforward, very knowledgeable, and compassionate. I would say the same for Brian the PA (although Brian did make a rather important error regarding me one time), Lisa Caldwell, NP, and Melanie Ledford, MD. I like all of them and trust all. Dr. Ledford is a favorite because of her infectious smile and her attention to detail each time I see her.

Most nurses in the practice are hospital employees and some of them are only there for a short stay. Those tend to rigidly adhere to guidelines and may be short-spoken.

In the procedure area, the nurses are Dr. James’ employees, I believe. Karen is excellent at every nursing duty back there. They are all excellent but I’ve seen Karen the most. Her kindness and skill were welcomed when an IV medication caused me to become very nauseated, and when I was dizzy and needed help walking. The procedure area is staffed by top notch support staff. There is no shortage of compassion.

The checkout area has 2 people. The older lady seems to be a long- time employee. She can be gruff and rude.

The nurse who is supervisor of the nursing staff, Traci, is excellent and always approachable. The other manager whose name escapes me but may be Susan, is the same.

There is one nurse, Kevin, who I will not for any reason allow to deal with me based on two bad experiences. I told the supervisor and have not had to interact with him again.

By far the positives of this clinic outweigh any negatives for me.

I've been going here for over 2 years. I get anxiety every time I have to go. The staff are rude and not just front desk, nurses, back desk for checking out and the PAs, you are treated like a drug addict off the street. I made a huge mistake and I completely own up to it, somehow I threw my scripts away. I did not expect them to replace them but I called to ask what can I do til Oct 23, thinking they could at least help me figure out how to space out what I did have left, no instead the nurse said oh well at least you caught it early and hope you find them. I have heart issues and I was scared, I ended up having to go to my mental health provider and she prescribed clonidine to help with the withdrawal symptoms. I was suffering over a week and this office couldn't have called that in? Its not a narcotic so what's the big deal. The deal is they do not care about their patients. All they want to do is push injections, when I asked about sedation they told me oh you don't need that it only hurts for a minute, um no, obviously they've never had one. Since this incident w my scripts I've started researching other pain mgmt doctors, I just do not need to put up w this behavior. I found one in Louisville and spoke to them for over a half hour, they are getting me in this week or next depending how long the referral paperwork takes. So tomorrow morning I will be calling this office to say I'm not coming back. All I ask for is kindness and compassion and actually try to help me have a better quality of life. Stay far away from this place.

the front office staff may be a little rude, but am sure that they have to screen a lot of drug seekers. Dr James and his PA are very knowledgeable his PA has better bedside manner than Dr James and will spend more time listening to you and explaining procedures. His nurses are very prompt returning phone calls regarding questions about medications or symptoms from medications.
