I found him a bit rough around the edges at my first appointment. I had to talk about some highly private and embarrassing details about my life and he did not help to put me at ease about that. When I saw him for a cystoscopy and later for day surgery, though, I grew to like his no-nonsense style. It became clear he was not judging me, just trying to help me as efficiently as possible--this is why he did not use euphemisms or beat around the bush. He helped reassure me when I was nervous about my operation and I really felt he cared about my wellbeing. He is also very knowledgeable and it's clear he's been doing this a long time. He informed me that so many of the things that GPs have told me are wrong and it was refreshing that he actually understood what was wrong with me.

Dr. Thomas removed one of my kidneys that had a cancerous growth on it. He has been wonderful from the first time I met him. He explained exactly what would happen, how it would affect me, and how I would recover. His bedside manner is impeccable and I can't recommend him highly enough. His receptionist is also extremely helpful and great to deal with.

I was referred to Dr. Thomas for a cystoscopy. No big deal, until i got there and he didn't wait long enough for the local anesthetic to kick in so the scope was not pleasant. He was impatient and rather rude. Not to mention when he prescribed me preventative antibiotics (for potential infection from the scope), he gave me sulfa drugs to which I am HIGHLY allergic. Of course I didn't realize this until after i had driven from Red Deer back to Edmonton, where i reside and had taken the prescription to my pharmacist. I would think that after stating my allergies 3 times prior to seeing Dr. Thomas and same being noted on my chart, a mistake like that would not be made. Everyone makes mistakes but I feel that was too much. He now wants to perform surgery on me for something I don't think I have. I refuse to go through with it and I am currently looking in to getting a second opinion.

Just had our first appointment with Dr.Thomas. He was funny, knowledgeable, helpful, kind. He took the time to explain things to us even though we never asked. It was a good experience even though under some difficult medical issues for us. If you need a urologist...GO SEE HIM!

Best Urologist ever!!! You are lucky to have him! Wish he were still in Quesnel, but he has too much to offer and Quesnel just didn't have the tools to offer him.

Capable and focused. Professional and interested. Listens well. Patients preferences are discussed and determine the course of diagnosis and treatment where appropriate. Some might find both him and his receptionist a bit curt and hurried sometimes, but, then, they ARE punctual.

Great doctor. Made me feel very comfortable before going into surgery. Alittle rude at post op appointment, but other than that would definately recommend him.
