Quite pleased with himself and his position as head of the clinic. Spent less than 10 minutes with me, during which time he used me to train a new nurse. Looked in my nose, told me I had allergies, then charged me just under $1,000 for the privilege. His receptionist wanted $250 cash up front (even though I had insurance) just to let me in the door. Considerably more interested in your money and his prestige than anything else.

This guy was pretty good. Nice office. Saw me 15 minutes early. He actually seemed to have READ the history I typed up (at least part of it). Listened well. Spent a lot of time looking up my nose with his fancy camera (would have appreciated souvenir photo) although the reasons for the visit were headache and ear symptoms (never looked in my ears). Very smoooooooth. Shuttled me off to a different doctor , but without being dismissive or unkind. Recommended other doctor with glowing praise, but admitted in the same breath that he actually didn't know anything about the guy. He did seem competent, if not a terribly out-of-the-box-type thinker, and I felt reassured. Finally, he considered what *I* thought the problem could be, and what I thought might help, even though it meant doing something that was, to some extent, against his better judgment (prescribing antibiotics). I couldn't have been happier unless he had, I don't know... produced a magic wand and healed me on the spot.

I was forced to commute 5 hours to Portland in order to see Dr. Sautter, but after the less than helpful service I'd received from my local ENT's it was well worth it. Dr. Sautter (fellow) & Timothy Smith (attending) make an incredible team and have been very helpful with my admittedly rare and difficult condition. They are very aware of all cutting edge treatments and studies, and successfully walk the line between caution for the patient & willingness to try new things. Very highly recommended!
