A complete rip off. I came all the way from Europe and he lied to me. charged me 2,000 upfront before shooting only 60 shots and do absolutely nothing. it is all a scam. I lost thousands between travelling and hotels and the treatment. I researched before and I would have wanted someone to tell me what this really ism a scam. he said he would clear 99% of the floaters and he didn't do absolutely nothing. a real scam for desperate people. if I had known, I would have invested the money is something valuable, not on his bad manners and lies

Dr Karickhoff performed laser viteolysus on my left eye for a large Weiss Ring floater in June, 2014 with great success! I will be forever grateful to him for saving my vision and life! Two years later I developed a Weiss Ring in my other eye. I knew the drill that time and felt calm knowing that Dr Karickhoff could help me again. That was in September, 2016. He learned this procedure from another doctor more than 20 years ago after suffering from a large floater himself. He invented tools used in laser vitreolysis and has written a book about it.

I would say that the comment about his people skills leaving something to be desired is an understatement. This guy was intolerable. If you have serious floaters, you should have something done, but just keep in mind that the guy who you see laughing and joking in a video with a patient for whom he removed one tiny floater may not be the same man who you encounter when you visit the office. As for all of the comments about his receptionist....I was 50/50 on her. Once I enjoyed speaking with her on the phone. Once, I didn't. I did not enjoy her in the office. The atmosphere in the office was definitely not friendly or warm. And really...really...this doctor must stop telling people "Regardless of what your optometrist said, I can probably give you some relief if you come out here." He may or may not be able to do anything at all and may or may not choose to do anything at all. He should probably be teaching younger doctors to perform this procedure. Younger, more tolerant doctors with greater ability to focus.

I have been a Dr. Karickoff patient twice. He is a wonderful doctor. VEry considerate and respectful. But, his staff is not the same. She is very disrespectful and mistreats patients. At least that was my experience with her. I am not going back to his clinic because of the rude behaviour of this woman.

Dr Karickoff is a very nice doctor and does his very best. I think sometimes this procedure works sometimes it does not. He did comment before the treatment he may be able to help me but was unsure. Since I had traveled so far to see him, I took the chance. I had the procedure done in both eyes. One eye is much better; the other is as bad as ever. Disappointed in my results since insurance does not cover this controversial laser treatment. Just beware this treatment may or may not work, it is definitely just a gamble. On the other hand I have had no negative results. Good luck!

Dr. Karickhoff is a wonderful doctor. It is incredible that he has so few reviews. He performs a special laser surgery on vitreous floaters. He has the demeanor of a country doctor but the technical skills and abilities of a doctor half his age. My intense nearsightedness created floaters that block my vision. It was a very widespread cloud in the middle of my field of view. The first session cleared so much of my cloud, I would have been satisfied. The second day he took nearly as many shots and cleared even more. I recommend him highly and without hesitation.

I went to see him about laser surgery for vitreous floaters. He was honest enough to tell me that it wouldn't work for me, despite that being his specialty. Works by himself; doesn't seem to be part of a larger practice. His people skills leave something to be desired, as does his support staff.
