I saw Dr. Matsumoto b/c my primary dr was not available.I was very sick & unable to work.He said I had a viral cold & it could not be treated & I would have to wait it out.He really didn't do much.My work is very strict about attendance & being out sick w/ this illness caused me to go over my sick time.I had to bring in papers from work for the dr to fill out to get excused before I could return.He refused to excuse me for the entire time I was sick saying I should have come back to see him!But he TOLD me there was nothing he could do b/c it was viral.I filed a complaint & all they said was he still refused to cover me & there was nothing they could do.I will NEVER see Dr. Matsumoto again or go to the Sharp at 2020 Genesse in San Diego!I'm sure they got plenty of money from my insurance since I did get sick a lot last year but now they won't get a dime from me!I have been pretty healthy since then but if I do need to see a dr it won't be Dr. Matsumoto & it will not be that practice!

Dr Matsumoto is really nice. With my husbands injury he was very informative and seemed like he cared. When I had problems he seemed different. He didnt know what I was talking about when I told him I had a reaction with meds which caused esophagitis. he gave me heart burn meds. I told him its not that and he wouldnt listen. He said come back in 4-6 weeks if it doesnt go away.

Great friendly doctor. Not sure why they always refuse to refer you to a specialist.

Dr. Matsumoto Is a very good knowledeable doctor , he will sit there and explain to you in detail about anything you ask him, I am ususlly very happy with him and his nurses, the only incovienence i shall say is that when you have an urgency to see him, and you walk in he will not see you unless its in the morning. he'll refer you to urgent care.the receptionist i think could work on there personnal level with patients, i don't like that its shared with another doctor. but overall I shall say that Dr. Matsumoto does remember you and goes in to detail with you about your concerns....

Dr. Matsumoto is a pleasant man and was my PCP for nearly three years. He was responsive to prescription requests and followed-up on my blood pressure. Beyond that, I never felt like we connected, because I had to give him my medical history at every visit. It's been my experience that the doctor does a quick chart review before entering the room in order to avoid this problem. I'm not saying that he didn't do this, but if he did, it was never evident to me in our interactions. When I brought him info from the Sharp website and requested a referral to the pain specialist and pain program, he did refer me to PT, but he refused the pain specialist consult as not appropriate. Fast forward, two years: my current pain specialists don't understand why I wasn't referred to the pain specialist since she provides the exact services that I needed. She even refers some of her patients to the clinic I am now attending! Lost two extra years to pain, not a happy patient here.

I went to Dr. Matsumoto b/c of a rash that developed on my face. I actually saw him twice within a couple of weeks b/c the rash worsened after the first time I saw him. He referred me to an allergist at the second visit. Subsequently, I went to urgent care b/c the rash continued to get worse. Both the doctor at urgent care and the allergist suggested a dermatoglogy referral. The allergist thought the rash might be rosacea. I called Dr. Matsumoto for the dermatology referral. When his office called me back, I was told that Dr. Matsumoto did not think it was rosacea but would give me the referral anyway, which seemed unprofessional. Overall, I felt that Dr. Matsumoto was not as knowledgeable as I would have expected nor did he seem to be a caring physician.
