I have seen this Dr. myself as have my children, many times over the past few years and he is always very helpful. I find he spends more time with patients than a lot of family physicians do. He gives meds when necessary and tells you when you need to be seeing a family physician for follow up as he isn't able to follow patients, although he has told us to come back and see him if we can't get into our family physician soon enough. I think the City of Selkirk should be grateful to this Dr and I would recommend him to anyone. I wish he had a family practice instead of walk in as I would switch to him in a minute!!

Very rude bedside manner. Had bronchitis and had an allergic reaction to the first meds he gave me after 2 days. Went back and he told me I didn't need anything else and to go home. When I questioned this he finally gave me a different antibiotic and told me not to bother to come back. He doesn't need to worry. I won't. Had been to him 3-4 times prior to this and there was always something that kind of rubbed me the wrong way about him, but went anyway thinking it was just in my head. Every time he was more rude. I think he has a problem with female patients as I have several friends who complain the same about him.

My family doctor is in Selkirk but because he is always so booked it is hard to get in to see him when we get sick. Dr. Aboobaker has given me and my family exceptional care. He is an asset to the community performing a service which the hospital simply cannot ( being extremely long wait times). 4 years ago my son had contracted viral pneumonia. We had gone to the hospital to receive treatment and were stunned at how poorly we were treated. He was misdiagnosed by the hospital MD. My son became very lethargic and was having a hard time to breathe. I went to see Dr. Aboobaker and received immediate attention for my son who was properly diagnosed with viral pneumonia. through the years we have gone in several times and never been treated poorly or have been misdiagnosed. He is a doctor who cares and is excellent at what he does.

Went to see him as a last resort since I was so sick. Fever, coughing up green stuff, sore throat, even lost my voice. His answer? Go to the hospital. Seems to me this is his answer for everything. I took my 10 year old there once since she had a really bad cough and that was his answer for her as well. Either he needs to start acting like a real dr and step up to the plate and start giving people meds when they are REALLY sick! I ended up going to Stonewall that night and they couldn't believe that I had already seen a dr and got no meds. You know its bad when another dr says, " You went to see HIM?" Why?" Like the others say, don't waste your time with this dr. BTW, I ended up having strep throat and bronchitis. Thanks Dr. Aboobaker!

Seems to make you feel guilty for not seeing a regular doctor, even if you don't have one or can't get one (and I've only been there maybe three or four times over about five years)! Misdiagnosed twice due to lack of a thorough exam, finally went to emergency and was diagnosed properly after seing another doctor.

I find it interesting that 3 bad reviews were all posted on the same day. Medications can not be given over the phone, my family Dr. of 25 years won't even do that. There is no medication for a common cold, I think everyone sees thru that one. Perscription for T3's, not unless you go to your own Dr. or to the hospital. That one patient must be a Dr. going there telling the DR he has a rotator cuff injury and asking for T3's, sounds like something else is going on. I have a family doctor in Wpg. but go to the walk-in whenever we have are really ill. I went with what I thought was bad stomach flu-horrific cramps-turned out to be bladder infection and was treated properly. The clinic in Selkirk fills a great need as people will pop in there rather than sit in Emerg for 4 hours, I went there another time and was sent immediately to hospital with a racing heart and hi blood pressure 210/114 r 110 this is a very good and knowledgable Dr and a GREAT ASSET TO SELKIRK AND AREA!

My family doctor is always busy, so I generally have to resort to the walk-in clinic for treatment of things like strep throat, bladder infections, etc. Dr. Aboobaker is thorough to an extreme, and somehow always remembers things about his patients - last time I was there he asked me how my history class was going that I was SO excited about on the previous visit (a few months prior). He makes sure to ask many questions, and does a great exam to make sure he is pinpointing exactly what it is that is wrong wtih you. I also appreciate that he has a LOT of people coming to see him, and he always makes sure to apologize for any wait times, and keeps you updated on how long he'll be when you're in his examination room waiting! Very courteous Dr, very nice, very well trained and extremely knowledgable. Hesitant to prescribe uneeded medicine, when something else will do (which I appreciate).

I took my 3 year old to see him. He was really kind to her, gentle, and spoke to her directly. Made her smile and gave her a lollipop at the end of everything, but most importantly, he was thorough with her examination. The wait was long, but worth it. I would recommend anyone I know to see him and would go there again.
