Be aware. Very Aware! And ask for and read your post visit summary carefully. It will tell you more about your diagnosis, status and treatment plan than Dr. Michael Kunesh will ever tell you, even though the document says he discussed everything with the patient! Simply put, he does not discuss anything with patients. He has no personality or chair side manner and a hand shake like a wet noodle. And he is all about the dollar. Anytime he upgrades his equipment or get a new machine you can bet that you need it for one reason or another. I can't believe I put up with this for years, believing he had my best interest in mind. I left his practice a couple of years ago after I asked my retina specialist why I needed an ERG test. He flatly told me to quit reading the Internet because I had absolutely NO NEED for such test and was wasting my time and getting confused. Then I showed him the visit report from Dr. Michael Kunesh, which had not been discussed with me but indicated I would have such test on my next visit. His advice was to decline the test and consider changing to a more ethical doctor. I did and only then learned that it was a bit late because when Dr Michael did my left cataract HE made decisions that should have been mine and they cannot be changed. He knew it would be 5 years or more before my other eye would need cataract surgery but still he decided to insert an IOL for distance rather than match the vision of my right eye. The result was that my L and R eye prescriptions were 4 or more diopters apart so my vision is blurry and doubled. I can no long read and have great difficulty driving. And when I spoke to him about my poor sight HE LAUGHED AT ME and said "only until you have the other eye done, then they will see the same". So he played with my life and my well being, not to serve me but rather himself. Meanwhile I continue to suffer!

Very rushed visit. Did not suggest remedies for problem. Considering going to different doctor next time. My PCP will be told of his inability to solve my problem.

The doctor is arrogant and uninterested. His assistant in the room was rude. He scheduled surgery and 2 days before surgery his office contacted my and told me to bring my check in the amount of $116 for co-insurance payment. (not co-pay). I asked if I could make payments, was told no. Said I couldn't pay up front, I need to cancel. Office said that's ok, your surgery is not life threatening according to the doctor. (I couldn't see out of my right eye) Wrote a letter to Dr. Kunesh specifically, stating how disgusted I was with his policy and to send me my records. It took me 4 weeks and 3 follow up phone calls to his office to get my records sent to me. My insurance company told me I wasn't to pay a co-insurance, since they don't know what it will be until AFTER the surgery. Additionally, when I visited for my pre surgery appt. the doctor told his assistant to give me 2 bottles of eye drops but when he left, she took one bottle away and put it back in the cupboard.
