Over the 7 years that I have been a patient at this practice it has gone downhill due to their disorganization and patient load becoming too large. There is no personal experience, the doctor never remembers me or anything about my very unique medical history. They have mixed up my medical records with a family member's as well as made errors that resulted in expensive misdiagnoses. In the past few years Dr. Nagel has suggested a gluten free/dairy free diet to cure every medical ailment I have had (and I overheard her suggesting it to another patient as well). The nursing staff are not professional. I have overheard them making fun of patients. I have decided to finally find a new primary care doctor after an experience last week when I was extremely sick and made to wait over an hour before being seen. The nurse didn't offer to put the feet up on the exam table so I could lay back (let me stress, I was very, very ill). Two days later I returned for a follow up and had confused the appointment time for my daughter's pediatrician appointment that I had canceled...one was 9:15 and one was 9:30. I showed up at 9:25, thinking my appointment was for 9:30, but the front desk lady rudely told me that my appointment was at 9:15 and I would have to leave. Which I can understand, but the way she said it was as if I had committed some crime, when it was an honest mistake I had made during a very serious illness. Keep in mind, this is two days after they made me wait over an hour when I couldn't even hold my head up. Anyway, the next week I went to the first appointment of the day for lab work and had to wait outside the building because the phlebotomist had overslept. I didn't care, because I understand that people are human. I just wish they could have given me the same respect when I was only 10 minutes late. Anyway, I will no longer be seeing this practice. They have too many patients to be able to provide quality care. I do like the ultrasound tech, she is nice, and Carmen the PA is the best practitioner there. It's just not for me.

My complaints are regarding prescription refills. When I visited, the prescriptions were written by an uncredentialed assistant. They were done wrong and had to be re-done twice (there was no-one to check them but me). Recently I had several refills come due. At least 12 calls were made by me, my wife or my pharmacist over the course of 1 week. Dr. Nagel's receptionist, nurse and office manager were rude on the phone and it was clear that my medical decisions were being made by the untrained staff, rather than the doctor. They finally "granted" (words from the office manager) a refill. By that time I had do do without the medicine for four days and had found another doctor (because I had to have the medicine). The only reason I can think of for their behavior is that the untrained and poorly paid people that work in the office have been given a little power that went to their heads. The doctor is afraid of her staff, so she doesn't require them to treat patients with respect.

Both providers and their nurse practitioners provide excellent care and are very schedule oriented. Long waiting list. Don't be late.

Dr. Nagel and her physician's assistant, Carmen, are conscientious and knowledgeable, emphathetic but firm, just what I need. They have made a very positive impact on my health. The only negative, a minor one, is that the office staff tends to be somewhat aloof, talking among themselves and not very attentive to patients. The nurses, once you get their attention, are very nice.

I take my mom to Dr. Nagel who always takes time, listens, active in resolving problems, frank but calm and reassuring. The office staff is also very responsive. Great doctor.

Dr. Nagel is the best doctor I have ever encountered. She is compassionate about her patients and really cares. I have been her patient for a couple of years and I will never stop going to her. Even if my insurance changes, I would rather pay out-of-pocket. I would highly recommend her, although she is NOT accepting new patients at this time.
