I had three babies delivered by her, they were fine experiences, but she just seems like it's the last thing in the world she'd like to be doing. If my husband ever came to an appointment she would just talk to him the whole time like I wasn't even there. During my last pregnancy I had an itchy, sloshy gross 'nether region' and I SMELLED horrible, to the point other people were noticing, I asked her at an appointment if she could please check for a yeast infection, she SMELLED MY CROTCH and said 'you smell fine'!!!!!. Fast forward to over a year later with a new OBGYN who discovered I had a horrible BACTERIAL infection the whole time! Completely confirming my decision to change docs. Her wait time was ridiculous, 1-2 hours and never worth the wait. Liked her with the first baby but it went downhill from there.....

Karen is awesome!
We unexpectedly had Karen deliver our first baby. We didn't know the doctor we had seen our whole pregnancy was out having surgery. Karen was fillng in for her and it ended up being a blessing in disguise.
Karen has a straight forward bedside manor, but does so in a very kings respectful way. She is more then willing to answer any question you have.
She has delivered all three of my babies and has been very supportive thru each one.
We also had a miscarriage. At the appointment in which we found out we would be loosing our baby. Karen answered all our questions and made sure we left the appointment knowing the miscarriage was not our fault. She handled things with kindness, respect and reverence.
Karen is a wonderful doctor and an all around great women.
I have and will continue to recommend her to any expecting mother.

I've had 2 babies now with Karen as my midwife. I LOVE HER! She's blunt I will admit, but sometimes that's what you need. I think that once you get to know her you don't notice anymore, however if you prefer a midwife who will coddle you and beat around the bush I'm sure that can be found somewhere else. My husband and I both feel that with each of my deliveries she has had my Babies best interest in mind. Also I had a relatively rare pregnancy rash with my first son and she knew right away what it was. I would also like to note that with the earlier comment about waiting to deliver, it is natural to go over your due date but it can cause complications and even death. All in all I have delivered 2 very healthy babies with Karen and gone through a misscarraige,I have never one time felt as if she didnt care I have laughed and cried with her and love that I can do so. The wait time can be rather long but if you call they will tell you how behind they are deliveries cant wait.

I had my first baby with McBride. She was blunt (fine), but blunt to the point of rudeness. She once accused me of being ok with seeing my unborn baby die because I asked if I could wait another week to get induced. My usual wait time to see her was 2 hours. There was one appt. that she brought me in after 5 minutes. Sometimes they brought me back to get undressed, and I would be sitting on the hard, plastic bed for an hour, naked, waiting for her to show up. The worst part was on delivery. She couldn't tell me when to push. I had an epidural and, luckily, could still tell when I should push. But she just sat there, clueless. She said, "If you feel like pushing, then push," in an uncaring fashion. After my baby was born she had a hard time sewing me up and I had the audacity to ask her what was going on. She yelled at me to be quiet until she was done. Afterwards she told me I was bleeding so hard and she couldn't stop it. I would've liked to know that.

I have seen Karen twice and both times found her cold, and not helpful at all. She might be great at delivering babies, but if you are past that stage and have other concerns she will make you feel like you are stupid, and/or crazy. I find her rude.

She is great! I would recommend her to everyone. She was running a bit late on her appointments but I never waited more than 30 min'. She will take her time with you, I never felt rushed or that I was bothering her. The entire practice is wonderful. If there is a problem they will work hard to get you into a specialist ASAP. When I delivered she was there in 5 min' and handled everything really well. Even when there was a bit of an emergency with delivering my baby she helped me deliver the way I wanted to and the baby and I are both fine. Don't waste your time or money with the OBGYN's at McKay or Ogden Regional. Go to her!
