Had a lumbar fusion the Dr Buckley performed, it went very well. I can't complain about him, the hospital staff is another story. Also wish the medical staff realized that I have genetic inability to metabolize certain medication. Wish they would have worked with me on that, but that would take effort. Thank you DR Buckley for the surgery.

Following an MRI , I consulted with another orthopedic surgeon to ID possible corrective action for my spinal stenosis. I was informed that my condition did not meet his criteria for surgical intervention and to return when pain went down my legs. Having had back problems for 40 years, pain has become a subjective issue with me.
When I started to experience motor function loss in my left leg, I had a follow up MRI performed, which showed progressive spinal stenosis.
A consultation with Dr. Buckley was arranged and his assessment indicated that immediate remedial action was indicated to avoid long term loss of mobility.
The staff pulled out all the stops to get me scheduled ASAP for a L4-S1 spinal fusion. This was scheduled for two weeks following the consultation. Surgery was ultimately canceled on the day of the procedure due to electrolyte imbalance. Immediate action was initiated to correct the electrolyte imbalance and to reschedule the procedure. This took place less than a month following the original scheduled date.

Dr Buckley's staff and the staff at Community Memorial Hospital could not have acted in a more professional and caring way. My prognosis is excellent and I look forward to a rapid and full recovery.
A special thanks to Tracy who treated me as if I was the only patient they had, and I am sure that all patients receive the same treatment.
Kudos to Dr Buckley, His assistant Brian and all the staff.
Highly recommend this practice.

Dr Buckley did a spinal fusion on my 85-year-old mother, who had broken her back. She is doing very very well only two months out of surgery. Stephanie, Dr. Buckley's PA , agreed to see her on an emergency basis, and they kept the office open late for us, and contacted a prosthetic manufacturer in Utica so they would stay open late in order to get a back brace made ASAP becasue she was in danger of permanently paralyzing herself if she were to fall. I highly recommend Dr. Buckley and his staff.

After waiting for 2 1/2 hours to see Buckley when he was located in Utica at Slocum Dickson, he came out and started talking to patients who had just walked in the door, and allowed them to skip ahead, ignoring me and 1 other person. After waiting an additional 1/2 hour went up to the receptionist who informed me I would have to wait another 45 min to 1 hour until I would be seen by him. The one patient who got into him immediately, came out and joked about how great it is to be buddies with the DR, and how she could go out to dinner now that she had free time, and told the 2 of us good luck seeing him, as his examination rooms were full.

I had two Chatite' artificial discs put into my back at two levels L-4 L-5, L-5 S1.I have done some research and discovered that the discs were never FDA approved to be put in at two levels. First off Dr. Buckley told me the discs would last for 20 yrs. Six months after the surgery I can't even walk anymore I get around with a cain and spend at least 22 hours a day laying in bed as the pain is so bad. The support in my lower back is totally gone and I have a terrible cracking at the level of the discs with every movement I make. To say I think this Dr. is terrible and unethical is an understatement I hope nobody else has to endure what I have gone through
