Dr. Porter is intelligent, responsible, considerate, patient, thorough, and very caring with her patients. I trust her completely and hold her in the highest esteem. As a patient of hers for several years, I have always had a positive experience in her office. She answered all of my questions, clarified if I didn't understand something, and has an amazing bedside manner.

Dr. Porter has been my doctor throughout three pregnancies (two births, both C-sections) -- for about four years now. She and the other doctors are tremendously knowledgeable and helpful; they have all taken an interest in my personal situation and they all came to visit me in the maternity ward during their rounds in the hospital. I recommend Dr. Porter. Since I have been an OB patient, I have "cycled" through the other docs, so I know them fairly well. Dr. Vearry, Dr. Nguyen and Dr. Pak are my other favorites. The nurses are very good but slow to call back on test results and not at all proactive. I have sometimes had to call several times to get my results. The office staff is very unorganized. I get the impression that they are carrying a huge patient load and just don't have the resources they need to get the job done. In summary, good -- even great -- doctors, but not so good at running a customer friendly business.

Dr Amy POrter's staff is horrific. The nurse will never call you back with test results. Even if you call for 10 days in a row and leave messages. She makes sure she will not call you back. I don't know what she does actually. Dr. Porter's phone staff is extremely rude. They almost yell at you over the phone and will try not to accomodate you even if you have an emergency. Dr Porter herself is very busy and always in a rush. You cannot really get personalized service. She is just there to do the job but do not expect anything above and beyond.

Amy Porter only "seems" to care in the beginning. Then once you have a problem, she'll pass you off to another doctor and never follow-up to see how you are doing (even after a miscarriage and surgery). Completely impersonal and has demonstrated to both my husband and I that she truly does not care about us. She will see us in the hallway at the clinic and not even say "hello" or "how are you?" We have had skin doctors who we only see on 1 visit yet have the courtesey to follow-up with a direct phone call to the house after a minor surgery--that is personal care. This doctor (Porter), however, will not call you at night after you are receiving bad news from an ultrasound or after you have D&C surgery. She simply is not a caring doctor---at all! Lacks showing a true personal connection. She will not change her schedule for you when you are truly in need.

Amy is the greatest OB/GYN Dr that I've ever had. She's not only polite, but very involved with her patients.

Dr. Porter was a great doctor the whole two times I saw her…... I constantly tried to set up appointments but her staff was very unorganized, extremely rude and showed no concerned to whether or not they helped you. My last visit was in July of 07 and Dr. Porter had told me to get some blood work done. I filled the paper work out and returned my blood results to her office but never heard back from anyone. Finally, I went to another doctor, because I know my situation was a serious one. I was retested and later found out I had a very treatable problem, but because it took so long to figure out what I had, I am no longer able to have children. And I am only 19 years old..

I have loved Dr. Porter every time I have been able to see her. Which has been all of twice during my entire pregnancy. It is almost impossible to get an appointment with her despite my numerous requests throughout my pregnancy. The office staff is AWFUL!! I am now changing OB's in my 9th month of pregnancy because I am completely fed up. The nurses (especially the head nurse) and the receptionists have been downright mean and rude! They fight with each other all the time and after being told to come in by one nurse I was yelled at by another for coming in. This happened twice! The second time that the nurse yelled at me for coming in the doctor sent me immediately to L&D at the hospital. Hmm, I wonder what would have happened if I hadn't come in? Ironically that was one of the few times I actually got to see Dr. Porter - in the hospital. I have never had a problem with any doctor's office before. I was only staying at this one because of Dr. Porter, but now I am officially done!

I have been seeing Doctor Porter for 7 years now. She is the best. I started seeing her when I moved here right after college and she has always made me feel as if she really cares about me and talks with me about my life and concerns. My husband and I plan on trying to conceive this year and I couldn't imagine having any other doctor during this very special time in my life.

The staffing was not helpful whatsoever in providing test results. It was extremely difficult to get through what was an emergency situation without being able to reach anyone. Looking for a new doctor now with better staffing, although Dr. Porter herself is excellent.
