Dr. H has helped immensely with our daughter who experienced significant anxiety and depression. Her caring attitude both with us (her parents) and our daughter really helped us through this difficult time. She referred our daughter to the best cognitive behavioral therapist and Dr. Halpin handled the medication management expertly.

Destroys Patient's Kidney
A 4-year-old female patient came in with a urinary tract infection, which was misdiagnosed by Dr. Halpin. The infections continued and spread to the patient's kidney. Dr. Halpin insisted that the patient had an immune disorder, despite blood work and urine labs (and a report from a fellow doctor) confirming the existence of a kidney infection. Reports were lost at the practice, social security information misplaced, and the patient remained ill (roughly 3 times per month) until the age of 9, at which point she was sent to the hospital (where she was correctly diagnosed and treated). At age 7 the patient had been prescribed by Dr. Halpin an immune system suppressing drug, which disabled the patient's only means of defense against the kidney infection (despite Dr. Halpin being presented with direct evidence of kidney infection by the patient's parent and a fellow doctor). The patient no longer has a left kidney and has had years of procedures and medical work to recover. She still suffers from intestinal damage, occasional infections, and an impaired immune system. No lawsuit was filed against her.

We left the practice after 1 appointment. They have FEES for their fees. We should have known by the lobby and every available wall space covered in neon paper listing all their new fees. The last straw was the insurance waiver to use their lab fee after bragging about how wonderful it was and sending us down to the basement to have the lab work done, and after waiting, they only then told us there was a lab fee that we had to sign a wavier for. They will nickel and dime you (25-50 dollars for everything extra). They get you to use their lab because they can get you the results quickly. When you go downstairs, there's an extra fee for using their lab (on top of the payments that you must make for lab fees- on the high end to start with). And then an insurance waiver for the fee! RIDICULOUS... we will not be back. Especially since the staff was as best curt in greeting and dispensing of business tasks. We will vote with our $ and children. Goodbye millions of Fees.

The absolute best Dr. I've ever seen. She made us feel like we've known her for years and is amazing with children. I feel extremely lucky to have her as my 2 daughters' doctor.

Dr Halpin (and NOVA Pediatrics) is very professional and caring. The practice is accomodating to new parents and Dr. H has the best way of relating to kids and babies.

This practice is run inefficiently. Appointments are made and then cancelled. Receptions are rude.

We switched from another doctor in this practice to Dr. Halpin. She is fantastic in every way, and she treats us like educated consumers of medical services. We couldn't ask for a better doctor, and when we needed to come in for an urgent visit, she was available.
