Great Doctor...Like the 'old days'...Very considerate and concerned...

Doctor Steffen is not the worst doctor I have ever seen, but definitely not the best. Her staff, however, is by far the absolute worst I have ever encountered. They are never accurate, they lose my records on a regular basis, they never call when they say they would. They will not call the insurance when they are supposed to call them (they want you to do that), and they even scheduled me for the wrong procedure! They never have my insurance information updated, and I never, not once, received so much as an apology from them. It's always a guessing game with them! I have been referred by my regular doctor to see dr. Steffen, for a very acute and painful condition. After 7 months of gruesome pain and other bothersome symptoms, I had never seen the doctor herself, only her PA. Finally, her PA "gave up" trying to treat me and sent me to the doctor proper. The process that I started with her 3 months ago, is way, way slow and very ineffective, however. I am deeply disappointed.

The most knowledgeable doctor I've had with excellent bedside manner. She explained why I had painful intercourse for about 10 years and also apologized on behalf of all dumb (usually male) doctors that were insensitive about this (as was an experience I had that I related to her.) She used pediatric-sized instruments with me so the exam was not painful. My oncologist referred me to her to watch. She normally does surgery consults and complicated cases but was kind enough to exam me.

I am so glad that I found Dr Steffan! I had a vaginal hysterectomy and prolapse repair and I feel like a million dollars! Everything about her office, her Staff and most importantly her is professional and they have really taken care of me! I highly recommend her!

GREAT doctor! Found that I had a condition that I had never heard of before. Surgery went great! Home the next day! I would recommend her to everyone who has any female problems !!!!

Dr. Steffen performed my hysterectomy, and she has always been very kind, attentive, and helpful. She is very knowledgable. She always spends whatever time is needed to make answer my questions and concerns. She is one of the best doctors I have ever been to, and I would recommend her to anyone. Her staff has always been helpful and professional as well.

To make her point as I was standing out in the office part in front of the room where she examined me she screamed at me, was not kind, acted like I was incompetent and talked to me like a child. Her office is in a hospital and I am sure that everyone in the immediate area could hear her - it was very embarrasing and did not need to happen. She repeated the same time in a very loud voice - re: a very personal part of my body. I will never go back - no one needs to be screamed at that way.
