This is the 2nd time of being sent to this "specialist". He is very personable; however, he relies on xrays and tests from many years ago, does not order any tests, and does not hear his patients, nor do any exam. He recommends sleep and pills to sleep. I have had issues my entire life and sleep is definitely not the solution. Either avoid this man or get a 2nd opinion as well.

I guess he is ok, he knows the decease and treats it well, but his office is full of new staff, bad choice bad moved, they are rude and treat you like if they are making you a favor it is too bad because he is a good doctor, I hope ho does something about how his personal treats patients but I doubt it, he once told me he doesn't really care about internet reviews

Knowledgeable and listens to you. Got my husband in when he needed to be seen on short notice. Explains things and shows you your blood work results, etc. Knows your history and remembers details from past visits. My husband was sick and undiagnosed for 14 months when he was referred to Dr McDougall and he ordered the necessary tests and got him diagnosed and got a treatment plan started.

He already has his sleep diagram all ready in his mind. Those that have been to him know this well. Ignored all obvious signs of me having a disease and never called my doctor or called me back to discuss results when my blood work came back. All I was told is sleep and I have trigger points in my back. Had to keep telling him that's not the problem and that is irrelevant because that's from a car accident that doesn't bother me very much. I was scared when I read the comments of how he works but to try to avoid it at all costs and stay on subject, the outcome was the same. I did however get a nice diagram that should help with my pain and other symptoms. (Sarcasm)

Just a note... I did try what he suggested , trying to sleep in pain is super hard to do. Even with taking his advice , nothing he suggested helped. Going to another specialist to now get treatment for my disease which is confirmed. I'm sure he is very helpful to some and knowledgeable in areas but he lacks in others and comes off as hubris.

Very rude and is an egomaniac- attacked me verbally when I accompanied my mother to her appointment. mom has passed, and I can not say that this doctor helped her while she was living. Dismissed my mother open sores, and did not further investigate- did not place a dressing on her open sores- mom passed away soon after this appointment- she had a major infection, CMV in her skin. The sores were CMV! Please do not trust this doctor, he is responsible for my mothers decline, and soon after death- Not recommended.

First saw Dr. R while in hospital I was very sick and after asking lots of questions he diagnosed my lupus. In the nine months since my quality of life has returned. He is very concerned about my health and is very aware of my case. I am lucky to have this doctor as part of my Healthcare team.

Staff are wonderful. Dr McDougal is fabulous. He is very well informed, listens to what you have to say and then works on a plan with you. Have been seeing him for years. Would not go anywhere else

I don't mind the staff but I can't stand this doctor. I told him about my pain and he barely examined me and threw pills at me for more "Rem sleep". It's like he believes sleep is the cure all when I'm in chronic pain..for years!
