Dr.Martinez was my son's doctor 1990-1993 and my husband's doctor 2011-2013. Both experiences were absolutely wonderful! He was always thoughtful, caring, knowledgeable, tender, respectful, and gentle. He was always direct, truthful, when he had bad news, not trying to avoid painful details. He was always willing to listen to any complaint, or suggestions. He went above and beyond the call of duty repeatedly. If I were to ever be diagnosed with cancer myself, I would consider it a gift from God to have Dr. Rodolfo Martinez as my doctor, especially if I was terminal like my son and my husband were. His kindness and gentleness to me and my family has been a profound and lasting testimony of the goodness of God in my personal life.

My mother had stage 3 pancreatic cancer. While receiving treatment she asked if she could have a B12 shot. Dr. Martinez told her "Why? You've got stage 3 pancreatic cancer." and refused her the shot. When she got to stage 4 she had fluid built up in her abdomen causing her even more discomfort and pain. MD Anderson in Houston told Dr. Martinez to drain the fluid. He refused. Once again, telling my mother "Why, you have pancreatic cancer." I flew her to Scottsdale AZ. The Oncologist there could not believe that she was refused these simple request. Yes, she was terminal, but this arrogant, insensative man could have helped her last few days of life be more comfortable and shown this stoic woman and my family some respect.

My husband waited 2.5 hours with a new surgical wound in an area that made it hard to sit for any length of time. The staff behind the desk were snappish and short with anyone who approached the desk to sign in. We were forced to fill out paperwork while sitting in the exam room and his medical folder wasn't put into the "Q" until the paperwork was done. After the lengthy wait, I was told that only one person could accompany my husband (his mother was with us) into the exam room. There are letters posted for patients to read about the long wait, "Dr. Martinez is seeing many very sick patients and takes time with each one. We are sorry this causes lengthy wait times." They are scheduling too many to be seen in a day and the only ones who suffer are the patients.

Waited two hours to go to examination room . I suggested that they have paperwork mailed in to alleviate lengthy wait time. The business mgr , the most unprofessional person I have encountered in years, came back, slammed the door, and ultimately told me the doctor would not see me. This would have been even more astounding if I hadn't seen them also "fire" an elderly cancer patient who had just been released from the hosp. His daughter wheeled him out exclaiming, "Dr. Martinez is no longer your doctor, Daddy!"
