I went to his office today. Staff is great but the doctor very rude. I left the office crying..need to say anymore?

I was a patient of Dr. Alvarez for about 1 year before changing doctors. For all six of my appointments he was 3-5 hours late, even if I scheduled the first appointment of the day. Also I found it surprising that his office did not request patients to not wear strong perfumes on days they are scheduled as most doctors that treat breathing disorders do. The office staff barely spoke English and was difficult to communicate with. Another thing that I was not fully comfortable with was his lack of testing and simply writing a prescription. When I changed physicians the first thing the new doctor did was test me and find out that I didn't need the excessive meds that Dr. Alvarez had given me.

This office seems to have more patients then they can handle. Dr. Alvarez is always late on appointments and is spaced out when talking to you. If a patient looks healthy he seems to ignore the symptoms and further pursue diagnostics (unless you are adamant about it). I have not been extremly successful in being diagnosed in a decent amount of time (talking about a year). Since I have been with them for almost 2 years, I don't feel like it is my PCP because it is difficult to get a hold of them, they are never available for questions (or at least it takes really long). Recently they could not assist me with Malaria Prophylaxis even though it was cruical for me to get the information quick and to make sure that they prescribe the right treatmant according to my medical history.Risto Fort Lauderdale FL

Discovered and solved problem I had for ten years. Dozens of doctors did not discover my problem until I went to him and his partner, Dr. Valenzuela. They not only saved my life but gave me back a normal life.
