My father saw Dr. Fink for about 3 years before I started seeing him. He is kind, listens and is very thorough. I have been seeing him since 2009, not sure why a couple of people gave him a 1 star without explaining, but this is a Doctor I trust very much.

I like Doctor Fink, he helps when you can get into see him. His staff is HORRIBLE. He needs to change staff to competent people

His staff sucks mightily. Hes asvcheap as can be and hires based on perceived willingness to make minimum wage, ergo "stupid" means "cheap".. one of them insisted that I didn't have insurance so I couldn't make an appointment. They were willing to sabotage him having an ongoing patient rather than risk Fink finding out they were idiots.. Trust me...he knows they are fools...that's why he hired them.. His knowledge and application of endrocrinology is very good.....you just have to scrinage thru the moron staff.. his wife is a GP.. NEVER NEVER EVER take a federal to anyone in her office.. All hacks. But as a competent Endo Fink is good.. Just be prepared to fight for an appointment cuz his office staff cant grasp "date + time = appointment". toooo stupid

I couldn't agree more with the red flags on most of these reviews. Dr. Fink was way behind schedule and made no apology for it. His staff seemed to only interested in my ins.coverage, they weren't rude but also not kind. Dr. Fink acted as if he wasn't interested in my daughter's condition, -told her to get off all meds. Four days later we saw a 'wonderful' Osteopath in Santee that said she absolutely needed to be on the medication and in fact added an afternoon dose. He sent her for an MRI which Dr. Fink poopooed off and said wasn't necessary. I can not recommend this Dr.and will let the refering Dr. know how much we disliked Dr.Fink's demeanor and his lack of concern for the health of my daughter and helpfulness. He 'acted' as if he was offended that he was a second option and it appeared he couldn't get us out of the office fast enough!

I have been a patient of Dr. Finks for 13 years. I came to him with chronic Thyroid problem. Thanks to his substantial knowledge in this field my thyroid is now controlled. I later developed Diabetes which he has been treating for about 4 years and it is 100% controlled due to his vigilance. I am extremely comfortable with his demeanor. He is thorough, consistent, and knows his field. Highly recommend this doctor.

i do not recommend that doctor. He misdiagnosed me and changed my synthroid dose to a point where I lost 20 lbs in 3 months. I had to mention it to him. He never checked my file. Also, my appointments are often rescheduled. I found a new doctor which turns out to be very conscientious. I am a cancer survivor and it is important to find a doctor that can help you!

I have been a patient (diabetes) of Dr. Raymond Fink for 14 years. I have received very good diabetic medical care from Dr. Fink's offices (El Centro, La Jolla, La Mesa). My appointments have generally been very positive experiences. Dr. Fink's office(s) sometimes can be very busy and appointment times can slip behind 15-30 minutes (worst case). His knowledge is excellent and I only seen him treat people (patients/staff) with respect and dignity.

I've taken my daughter to see him several times as she was diagnosed with hoshimoto's disease and she is a teenager. He was dismissive, void of any emotion, very matter of fact. My daughter was extremely emotional about recent weight gain and he said this was normal and in so many words told her to deal with it as her blood levels were in the normal range. Nothing else he could do. He allowed us to walk out of his office with no guidance and clearly an emotional child. If you like doctors with no personality or caring bone in their body, he's for for. Not ever again for us.

Dr. Fink is a good endocrinalist but his office does not send progress notes or results to primary doc as required. This has now cost me my bone density mass and hip problems, maybe hip replacement sx. He did a bone density in 2009 and his staff told my over the phone that it was normal. That was NOT THE CASE! Dr. Fink signed off on the page 4 that states I have osteopenia and need to be on medication! That is NOT a normal report. Report was supposedly faxed to my primary doc, yet there is no indication of a fax confirmation sheet or fax sheet in my chart (I got my entire medical records). Since I have a serious chronic medical condition that makes me very at risk for bone loss, I requested another bone density report in July 2010 because the little man in my head said sometime was wrong. I was so right. I know have more hip damage and I am requesting a referral to my orthopedist Dr. Roger Freeman and it has been denied. I am appealing this with BS.

I was referred by my primary physician. A scan showed a lump on my thyroid. I called and was asked for name, insurance etc and given an appt. for 3 1/2 weeks later. Needless to say, I've been concerned over what the lump might be and have been anxiously awaiting my visit. The Dr's office called twice to confirm the appointment. Three hours before I was scheduled to go in, I get a call telling me they don't accept my insurance!? That was practically the first thing they asked when I called to set the appointment! The office staffer who called was less than helpful with recommendations as to how I should proceed. I can't speak to the Physicians competence, but if his staff is any indication, I would be wary. Of course, I'm not terribly pleased with my primary physician for referring me to someone who doesn't accept my insurance in the first place, but I have a longer history there, and he is generally pretty good.
