Dr. Silverstein has been my ophthalmologist for several years and I think he is great. He explains things thoroughly and is very conservative in his judgment. I think that he worries maybe too much that people will only hear what they want to hear, so he sometimes goes over the negative stuff a lot!

This doctor told me I needed an iridotomy to prevent narrow angle glaucoma. The results were terrible as I see a line of glare all the time due to the laser holes in the iris. His partner confirmed that the procedure was the cause of this, but Dr. Silverstein denied that this was possible. He seemed totally unconcerned about this. I went to a different ophthalmologist and he said I needed cataract surgery. I had this done and found out that the original procedure wouldn't have been necessary if the cataract surgery had been done in the first place! My eye sight has been terrible ever since Dr. Silverstein did that procedure and there is no fixing it. It's permanent.

He misrepresected the product telling me my pupils were too big an cornea too thin for Lasik. He assured me this would be the best choice. Once I became over 40 I wouldn't need reading glasses. After it was all done and he received his money, I discovered i can not see anything 3 ft and closer. He prescribed progresive glasses for me, but does no good when i with to continue with my hobby of photography, or even taking out splinters in my small children. He thought the surgery was a complete suggess, meanwhile I is nothing he said it would be. Now two years later, my lens slipped and i need another surgery. I did't know this would be a life time committments of surgeries. I wish I had never received the surgery. I was 38 yrs old. He has definately changed my life in a bad way.

Dr. Silverstein performed cataract surgeries and I was very satisfied with the results. I followed the post surgical instructions which is important in the healing process. He called me the next day after each surgery to check on my progress. I appreciated this! Also, his staff at his surgical center were great and made me feel at ease prior to surgery.
