After a bout of prostasitis Dr. Stewart monitored me for several years as my PSA climbed higher and higher through double digits. Because of my trust that his monitoring was professional and what he claimed were OK results from biopsies at our local Royal Inland Hospital by a Dr. Bilby, I believed I was fine. However I had developed prostate cancer. My cancer was only discovered after Dr. Stewart's untimely death and the necessity to find a new urologist! Thank goodness my new urologist Dr. Ottem found my cancer and has done his best to prolong my life.

Rest in peace Dr. Stewart. We will miss your wry sense of humor and pink cheeks when you laugh. You were a wonderful Doctor who cared about his patients. Your spirit will soar! I am sure of that. From a nurse who really enjoyed your presence.

My husband went to Dr.Stewart for what should have been a routine vasectomy. Within a day of the procedure my husband was in extreme pain. Upon returning to doctor was given a diagnosis which turned out to be wrong and resulted in 4 months of severe pain and infection, leaving my husband unable to work during that time. He almost lost his testicle and the whole time Dr. Stewart was arrogant and refused to revisit his original diagnosis despite evidence that he was wrong. A horrible doctor, I wouldn't send my dog to him for a surgical procedure. Others have told me he is a good diagnostic doctor but terrible surgeon. His pompous and dismissive bedside manner is enough to not recommend him to anyone.

I went to see Dr. Stewart for an appointment. He was very thorough and knew what he was talking about. He was straight to the point. Answered my questions in a very stiff and abrupt way. He is an excellant Dr though and really knows what he is doing.

We saw this Dr when my son was two, it was 17 years ago, but, he quickly & efficiently diagnosed an undescended testicle, explained everything to us very carefully, sent us to a pre op video session at our hospital, and was very caring and professional on surgery day. The surgery went well and our young son received very good post operative care as well - Three years later he had to refer us to a Childrens Hospital Dr. for the second part of the surgery which also went very well (all the staff there were excellent) He made a difficult situation managable. I can only assume that in 17 years he has gained even more knowledge and experience - a good man
