I had an appointment with Dr. Chow due to extreme bleeding during my period. And in so much pain I could not walk at all. She said it was because I was overweight. So I went to a gynecologist and when I told him what was happening he did tests and found out I actually had cancer in my ovaries and had to have surgery to remove on. He told me I was bleeding that much because of the cancer, not because I was overweight. She claims everything is because people are overweight. She should retire.

So she was punctual. Big deal. She was rude, didn’t listen and interrupted when questions were asked.
There was not any evidence of compassion and very little that she knew what she was even talking about.

Dr Chow did not identify herself as the locum on the phone until I asked. I am profoundly deaf and use speech to voice tech, explained the need for turn taking but she continued to talk over my voice. The Canadian Cancer Society recommended a scope as I was late for my past one
Dr Chow refused to sign for it. She told me the Canadian Cancer Society didn't know what they were talking about because they didn't even have their doctorates and I could wait the 10 years like everyone else. Her exact words. I have a transcription on my pixel pro 6. A walk in clinic is a better choice than a hostile uncaring and rude doctor. Patients are clients not underlings. I agree. Go with your gut. Move on. This is not someone you want if you end up in emergency.

I have had 2 appointments with Dr Chow. The first appointment I felt she was arrogant and made quick judgement on the care I needed. I felt she didn't listen to my concerns and I got nowhere. She referred me to a specialist without informing me of the referral. Which was a waste of time because I already had a specialist. I was astonished at her deplorable communication skills. The 2nd appointment ( everyone deserves a 2nd chance) I had concerns about PTSD adrenaline and the affects it could have on my heart? She just said one immediate answer" No." I said PTSD stress and Adrenaline doesn't affect the heart? She again said "no". So I hung up. Dr Chow is blunt and arrogant. She doesn't realize there needs to be "care" in Healthcare.
The Clinic she works at is great and has great staff and it's unfortunate that this Dr is associated with this clinic .
Dr Chow was also 45 minutes late for the appointment which is not a big deal in my opinion as this is common for most visits to Doctors.
I Do not recommend Dr Chow.

When I first moved to Courtney 6 years ago I had Dr. Chow. and on my first visit I explain to her that I had been involved in motor vehicle accidents and that i required pain medications, sleeping pills etc. by the end of my visit she said there was nothing wrong with me even though I gave her a 40 page report from a forensic physiotherapy . Upon leaving her office I knew I needed to find a new doctor which I did in the same office. My new doctor I have found to be extremely helpful and competent. He took the time to review my condition and properly diagnose the right medication to help with my symptoms along with sending me to the pain clinic that made a huge difference. He sent me to several specialists which resulted in surgery that helped my condition.
Six years later she was filling in for my doctor as he was away and I needed my prescriptions refilled, when I dropped the prescriptions off at the pharmacy some of them were early for refills and two were not so the pharmacist needed to fax Dr. Chow to confirm them and she turn them all down. I gave her the benefit of the doubt as she was just refilling my prescription, and sure enough I was wrong! I have to say my gut feeling was wright six years ago and I’m glad I made the change. Good luck to you all and go with your gut!

Dr. Chow was helpful, professional and thorough during my visit. She offered me a homeopathic remedy for my ailment that four doctors before her either didn't want to offer or had never been taught. All of the people shaming this woman deserve to be rated as well, my guess is they are obnoxious patients.

Saw Dr Chow for the first time today and was very impressed. She took on a list of issues I wanted to talk about and addressed each one in an orderly fashion. I left the office with answers that I needed and a way forward. Thank you Dr. Chow.
