Extremely abusive, arrogant, dismissive, rude and insensitive. I went to him for seven years and when I turned 40 I was asked to take a mammogram. I did but it hurt and then he Sneered at me saying if I didn't want to continue to receive regular mammograms that I was crazy. Horrified he snapped You're welcome to get your health care needs met elsewhere

Dr. Neil Rogers had a stone cold demeanour, was dismissive, arrogant and rude. I brought my 16 year old son to see Dr. Rogers at the Oceanside Acute Care Centre where I have previously been met with the best of care for my family (from other doctors). My son has been experiencing intolerable pain all over his body and it has negatively impacted his mental health. My son had already experienced doctors dismissing or minimizing his pain, but he held out hope that this doctor could help him. When I explained what we had already done and what we've learned, Dr. Rogers abruptly shut the conversation down and left the room. When he returned, he said he would provide a pediatric referral. But not once did he look at my son and provide any level of compassion or encouragement. My son broke down into tears and said "doctors don't care..." We were left in the treatment room to wait for the referral when finally a nurse asked if we needed anything. Dr. Rogers hadn't said we could leave or that he would come back. He just walked out. My son's mental health is hanging by a thread due to terrifying, unexplained physical pain. Dr. Rogers may have taken the oath to "do no harm" but he certainly did harm today. You have chipped away at the little hope my son was hanging onto Dr. Rogers. Even if you couldn't help my son, you could have been compassionate and kind. Disgrace to the medical profession.

This doctor should have his license suspended. I took my 11 year old son to the ER because he had taken drugs and told the nurse he didn’t care if he lived or died. The nurse advised she would have him admitted to the paediatric ward for his mental health but needed the doctor to sign off. Dr Rogers wasn’t even in the room and was already spouting off “what do you expect me to do” and told us to leave. It was my first experience with how mental health is viewed by some in the medical field. When I asked the admitting clerk if there was a crisis nurse we could speak to, Dr Rogers came out and told the admitting clerk no and we left. My son died when he was 13. Had Dr Rogers have my son basic help when he was 11 he may still be here. You have my sons blood on your hands “doctor”. I’d rather bleed to death in a gutter than have him “help” me.

15 years ago after going through something traumatic and being prescribed strong anti anxieties by my family Doc. My file was transferred to Dr Rogers and he took the time to ask pertinent questions that lead to a mutually agreed upon change in medical path/plan and how it should be dealt with. Although at the time I felt devastated to be taken off the the anti anxiety medication that I felt so dependant on , the new advice/plan he provided worked and I look back with extreme gratitude that I am not dependent on those drugs. Thank you Dr. Rogers for caring about and advising that these type of medications are ‘band aids’ and not long term solutions.

This doctor is arrogant, sexist, and full of himself. I patiently waited 6 hours in the ER to be chastised for coming there in the first place. My family doctor was not available for 4 WEEKS and I was advised by an NP (virtually) that if my symptoms get worse to seek ER care. I was dehydrated, dizzy, and nearly passed out so I went only to be told my ‘condition’ was for family practice. This doctor is dangerous. I even had blood show up in my urine and was told ‘that happens’ and sent home. Absolutely horrendous doctor. Nanaimo is not better off with doctors like this taking care of the community.

Best doctor I ever had. I was lucky enough to have Dr Rogers as my doctor for over 10 years and I’ve never found another doctor since then that even comes close to his level of care and kindness.

Went there with extreme back pain, unable to walk properly. After waiting 1h in the waiting area with muscle spasms and excruciating pain i was examined for 1minute. My back wasn't even touched and Neil immediately gave me a prescription for possibly addicting morphine. I was sent on my merry way without x-ray or MRI. As i was sleep deprived and in pain i did not realize what had happened in that moment and left. The practicing nurse at that time did not offer any help as i was struggling to get up from the bed under extreme pain. I will file a complaint with cpsbc

I have seen Dr. Rogers on a few occasions and he is by far one of the absolute best, He was very reactive, attentive and provided top quality care. My daughter was in emergency years back and he treated her so kind as well! Dr. Rogers was my doctor almost 15 years ago and have always respected him and think very highly of him. Thank you for all that you do Dr. Rogers!

Poor bed side manner as he was the emergency doctor at the hospital. Referred every single patient while I was there to just go see their family doctor. Even for stitches
