Dr Stewart treated me twice in the ER at Lions Gate. Both times he said to myself and family that it was most likely Status Migrainous. It took a month to wean off of the drugs that I was given when I spent a couple days in hospital @ Dr Stewarts request. (trying to break the migrain cycle)I had 2 visits at his office while I was weaning off the drugs. On the last visit even though I was still feeling awful. He told me that it was probley stess related and I needed to see a clinical psychologist. The letter that was sent to my doctor said that I had 2 mild headaches (tell that to my sister who watched me laying on the hospital floor screaming from pain like I have never felt before)He may have helped me in the hospital, but after that he let me down. I would not recommend this doctor.

A family member was referred to Dr. J. Stewart, and he was quite nonchallant and abrupt in his examination, and follow up conversations. While in hospital, the lungs filled up with fluid, and I called him literally begging him to come across the street from his office to Lions Gate Hospital and prescribe an antibiotic. Because it was 4:45 on a very rainy friday afternoon he refused to come, or even call the hospital to give instructions for medication. Within 2 days, the lungs had full pnumonia, and my relative died with in the week. I have never EVER had to BEG a Doctor before, for appropriate treatment. but I did that day. I don't care if he came from MCGill, his communication skills were lacking greatly, and his medical service extremly cruel and unprofessional. It seems that he has forgotten the first line of the Hippocratic Oath which reads, "First Do No Harm." Dr. Stewart let my family member suffer greatly and unnessarilly, and caused great anguish to our family.

I found this doctor to be just excellent. He took my complex situation very seriously, listened carefully was very compassionate and explained his diagnosis, as well as answered my questions.

Very professional, yet very personable. Made me feel comfortable even though the tests were not. Explained things in laymans terms, not in doctorese. Overall just a GREAT doctor.
