Dr. Ford's nurse practitioner was more helpful than he. Although most of the office staff is wonderful the office manager, his wife, is unprofessional in spite of being a social worker. Maybe that's why she no longer practices. The woman would not listen. While my husband was trying to get them to issue a replacement prescription that my pharmacy lost, our phone had a bad connection. Her reaction:take it up with the pharmacy. We were loud to be heard and we were fired. Don't go there! In addition I went into an insulin reaction reaction from the rude treatment. All that was needed was 30 seconds of uninterrupted listening not her ego based interruptions. Dr. Ford was no better. While we were less than polite it was due to not being allowed to explain our needs. Also the woman has a problem with semantics: her way or no way. Too bad this is Delaware since they could be arrested in NJ for endangering a (former) patient.

Dr Ford seemed like a good doctor. The office staff on the other hand was awful. Rude, rigid, not friendly, & just difficult to deal with. When the issue was brought to Dr Ford's attention he just shrugged and said he must work with them and that is the way it is. Found another doctor.

He knows what he is doing BUT does not let you know results of test done or if further visit needed. Makes you feel like he cares but does not check meds u R taking to see if need to change. Looking 4 another Doctor.

They have policies which cannot be broken you are not allowed to be late. They will only attempt to fax 3x's for each pt no matter what. The rudest and inconsiderate staff ever no human compassion @ this is doctor ofc folks. I switched after 1 visit! You need people who will work with you I was the last patient of the day and I had them on the phone explaining the train was late and I would be 10 min late they canceled my appointment. Turns out I arrived a little earlier and told them I was across the street I would have been 5 minutes late she said well we already canceled your appointment. My new Dr call them they told them we our Policy Is - You sure would have liked to receive all of that money from the insurance company but My Policy is This is MY HEALTH This place where I am only a number! I understand why ofc have policies most do but they don't enforce them so harshly. I was having a bad reaction to the meds I know we need but I was sick hence Dr appt.

Seemed hostile for no apparent reason on one visit. Takes Fridays off for golf. Listens a few minutes, but hardly ever asks questions to try to understand your symptoms better, and doesn't discuss much of what he wants to do to help you. Never had any physical contact at all on one visit-- not so much as a handshake or shoulder pat. Got charged for a visit with a doctor who did nothing. Several times when sick and call to see him, office helpers tell you he's booked up and the earliest he can see you is about a week to 10 days and offer to call you back if there is cancellation. Sometimes will tell you to go see another doctor for things basic internists can treat. Even for an ongoing problem with abnormal labs requiring medication, didn't offer to schedule a follow up visit or follow up labs. The staff are very nice and try to be as helpful as possible and are easy to talk to.

Very angry if called for urgent care not during office hours. Sarcastic.

Dr. Ford is very nice and helpful. I always get referrals completed in a timely manner too. My biggest issue with his office is they never have available openings for appointments needed when you are very sick. The earliest appointment is usually 2 weeks out...which doesn't help when you're very ill. Also, the office staff are sometimes bad with returning phone calls for prescription refills, etc.

Dr. Ford and his Nurse Practitioner as well as his other office staff are exceptionally nice. They treat you like a human being and not like a cow in a herd of farm animals like some other doctor's do. He listens and always shakes your hand at the end of the visit. I wish all doctors treated their patients this way. The only think is if you are sick, sometimes, it is hard to get an appointment unless there is a cancellation, whereas it used to be if you were sick, they would fit you into the schedule. Sometimes, continuity of care is not as good as it used to be.
