Dr Duvel is excellent at investigative medicine. He is open to learning about new information or about new conditions. He has helped me through my breast cancer journey and through my FND & DIDs journey which is a life long journey. He is extremely helpful and done everything possible to help me at every step. If either of us come up with a suggestion, we discuss it together to find out if it would work for me or not.

I have never rated a Dr but came across this & know I had to share my experience with “Dr” Duvel because I may save a life/lives. I’m a Registered Nurse by profession. Every time I start explaining my misdiagnosis by Dr Duvel the site kicks me off. I’m trying to do this quickly. My 2 young daughters & I visited his office weekly for 2-3 mons due to pain in my head that brought me to tears & to my knees. I remember describing it to him “as if a vice is squeezing my skull”. My level of consciousness was rapidly decreasing , my confusion was increasing & I couldn’t stay awake. Couldn’t cook a proper meal, had a minor car accident, could not stay awake & had forgotten to pick my daughter up at playschool on multiple occasions. I relayed this to him. He told me I was having migraines that he didn’t offer to treat (that never let up?)I knew it was more serious even in my confused state. I begged for a CT scan & he finally agreed, scoffing because a migraine wouldn’t show up on a CT. I continued to deteriorate, it was January. My CT was booked for April. If I would’ve waited for that CT in April my girls would’ve been orphaned. I’d be dead! Thank the lord someone confronted me about my peculiar behaviour & took me to the UAH ER. I waited in the ER for 22 hrs that day in January because the triage nurse also thought I was a whiny woman with a migraine headache. When I finally saw a Dr they examined me thoroughly & ran many tests. I was relieved someone finally did. They ordered a CT. A Neurosurgeon came to me shortly after & told me I had 2 weeks to live if I didn’t have surgery in the AM. I had Hydrocephalus caused by what I thought was a concussion after a boat driver violently threw me from a tube in July. This Dr is dangerous.

Well he gave me a year prescription for Nasonex nasal spray for an issue of wax build up in my ears. I realize that ear, nose and throat are all connected and keeping ones nasal passages clear did lead to less build up in my ears. Here's the rub; nasal sprays, especially stronger prescription issued ones, wear away the lining inside your nose until there is none and it doesn't regenerate. The only reason i found out this was not a good practice and that he shouldn't have given me a prescription for that long was, when i went to a different doctor as he had left the parkland medical clinic in Spruce Grove. I should have been using a regular, over the counter saline nasal wash, perhaps even one with aloe. Doctors get paid for the prescriptions they write.

Dr. Duval has been kind, competent, compassionate, and efficient to me and my husband for several years. He is willing to listen and work with us and not tell us only what he thinks is right. He has never mentioned his wife's business, (Novoderm) for his personal gain, only answered my question when I asked about it. Dr. Duval works hard and seems to always put his best foot forward for the patient's sake. Highly recommended. Thanks Dr. Duval!

I was diagnosed with a brain tumor and rushed for an emergency MRI. Prior to the MRI, a urine sample was taken and they informed me that I was pregnant. I was severely misdiagnosed.

I have been seeing Dr Duvel since he first moved to Spruce Grove and have always found him to be thorough, thoughtful and compassionate. He doesn't hesitate to make a referral to a specialist if necessary and is always willing to listen. A1 all the way!!!!
