Dr Sharon Witzu was the only dentist for me. She was always very gentle . She explained all she was going to do. The office workers are always helpful. I really miss her since her accident.

Dr Witzu scams your benefits to the max, if you have coverage, she thinks its ok to charge for extra things and make you get work done to the max because you have coverage!!!!! The reson we have so much of a hard time with our benefits are because of greedy dr's that take advantage of the system!!!!!! MAKE SURE YOU KEEP AN EYE OUT ON WHAT SHE'S MAKING YOU GET DONE!! #SCAMMER!!!

THE BEST!! I absolutely adore this woman. She is the kindest and most thoughtful Dr. I have even seen. She even went as far as to make a diagram and show me whats going on in my tooth so I can make an educated decision and never once pushed me to have anything done for the 'money' like some have said. I have never met a dentist, doctor or any health care professional who is willing to stay late to help a patient. I feel spoiled to have her as my Dentist. :)

They messed up on our invoice, did not notify us until 8 months later, told us to go ahead and make payments to pay off the difference by sending payments by cheque. After they received our first payment, we received a call from someone else at the office who informed us that they decided payments were not acceptable and they wanted the full amount immediately, which we could not do. Within a week, they sent it to a collection agency, both in my name and my ex's name for the full amount together that we both owe--why should I be penalized for his portion of the treatment that was not even in my name? Better yet... why am I being penalized IMMEDIATELY for their mistake after we made an agreement regarding the payments? Terrible service. I will pay it off, and I will be sure to never visit again.

This woman is a monster. She's manipulative and greedy. Never in all my years have I ever encountered such a ghastly individual. Dr. Sharon Whitzu, you need to re-evaluate your ways of conducting your practice. As a patient, I don't appreciate you belittling your staff in front of me. You should be ashamed of yourself.

I had a very similar experience to the previous one posted. When I moved out to Chelmsford I decided to also change dentists. One of my gfs went there so I figured I would give them a try. I ended up with Dr Sharon Witzu as my dentist.
She told me I would have to have 7 fillings replaced as they were the old ones, cracking, etc etc etc…It had been a few years since my last cleaning and my benefits would cover it so I agreed we could go ahead and do it. Well there went many many many hours of my life. They get you out of the waiting room quickly but then you sit alone in the room for over an hour per visit!
She had my annual benefits maxed out within the first few visits!!! When I mentioned this to her her comment was “Well your husbands benefits are unlimited” That upset me tremendously - I should have known she would have this attitude – one of her first questions to me the first time we met was “where do you work, do you have benefits”

During all this I had a problem with one of my molars being very sensitive when I bit down hard, my previous dentist said it might be cracked and had tried to repair it a couple times. Dr Witzu said I needed a root canal – I asked several questions about how long it would take, the details of the procedure and what medications I would have to take as I was 7mths pregnant at the time. She told me it would be a quick procedure done in a couple of hours.
Boy was that a lie. After my couple of hours wait time she finally came in and started my procedure. A drill bit also broke in my gums and she wasn’t able to remove it. She said I may need to go see a specialist to have surgery to remove it – I asked her if this cost would also be covered in the cost of my root canal since she was maxing out my (now the next years)maximum benefits . She told me no, which I argued with her about since she was the one who caused the issue.
I ended up having to go in a second time to have the root canal completed – another few hours of course, that’s when she told me root canals always took 2 visits…nice of her to tell me that halfway through. After the root canal was all done with I was still having pain in that tooth, she told me I might have a hairline crack that her xray can’t pick up and that I might need to see another specialist to have the tooth looked at and pulled!!
All these dental visits and procedures were causing me a lot of stress which was no healthy for my pregnancy. Every time I left the office I would have the full body shakes. Luckily in the end I did not have to have surgery to have the rod or tooth removed.

I never returned to see her after this. The admin clerks called me several times to tell me I was due for cleanings/check ups and would get upset when I said I wasn’t ready to come in and that I would call them when I was.
I returned to my previous dentist and they took some new xrays, the hygienist verified the root canal and showed me the picture, she said it looked good. When I mentioned the issues I’d had and how Dr Witzu kept trying to use up all my benefits she told me she’d heard this from other patients as well…

I have been a patient of Sharon witzu's since I was a teenager. Everytime I went for a checkup I always seemed to have a cavity which I had filled without question. Even though I brushed my teeth twice a day and flossed and used toothpicks. It was nothing to wait for an hour in the chair as she rushed from room to room obviously overbooked and moving so quickly that I don't remember her ever having time to address the hygiene issue I've seen in some of the other posts. She would even have discussions with her assistant in front of me about working more efficiently so they could shave off seconds and she could see more patients in a day. What is interesting is that after over 20 years of limiting my visits to her I've never had any cavities.
Except for one problem I had with a tooth that she said needed a root canal. Dr Cardella recommended pulling it but she insisted she could fix it. You could almost see the dollar signs in her eyes. She started to do the root canal and not long after she stopped and announced that the drill bit had broken inside my tooth. She said that this was no big deal, it happens occasionally and it won't affect me. Then she proceeded to finish the tooth with the drill bit in the tooth with a white filling! Which she says was stronger than a metal filling! I went back to see her about a year later complaining that the tooth still had feeling in it which she said was impossible. The tooth was completely dead.
I went back to see her some time later and said that there's been a bump on the side of gums where the root canal tooth was and my white fillings keep breaking. She now x-ray'd my tooth with her outdated x-ray machine with the blurry images and announced that i'd need a new procedure which would be very expensive where they would cut the gums and remove the drill bit from my tooth from the inside. All of a sudden, the drill bit being in my tooth was very dangerous and could be causing bacteria to build up in my body and had to be removed.
I decided that I'd had enough so I went to see another dentist to have the tooth checked. When I arrived there was a relaxed atmosphere, the dentist consulted with me for about 15 minutes about my previous dental work and then took his time and carefully checked my teeth. I have never been able to have a relaxed discussion about my teeth before, Then he used a modern x-ray machine to take an image of my root canal tooth. Then he put the very clear x-ray up on his computer screen and showed me that there was a huge piece of a drill bit lodged in my tooth and two of the nerves were never drilled. The tooth was still alive only two of the nerves had been drilled.
SHE CHARGED ME OVER $1200 FOR A ROOT CANAL AND NEVER FINISHED THE JOB AND SHE KNEW THAT IT WASN'T FINISHED!! THEN SHE WAITED, KNOWING THAT SHE COULD HIT ME UP FOR ANOTHER EXPENSIVE PROCEDURE WHICH SHE KNEW WOULDN'T WORK! The drill bit was too long to extract from the stem of the tooth. Then she would've had to extract the tooth any way. My only option is to have the tooth removed leaving me only one upper molar on the left side of my mouth and having very expensive implants installed.
I hope Sharon Witzu enjoys spending the money she's made on the backs of her innocent patients cause I'm sure i'm not the only one who's walking around with a mouth full of fillings that probably weren't needed. Being a dentist is a license to print money cause there is no oversight. They can do whatever they want and there is no way to have their work questioned.
Trust me, I've talked to my lawyer and I don't really have any legal recourse for the botched root canal and white fillings that i received.
I'd tell people not to see her for dental work but I'm sure she's retired by now but I will say this:
If you are uncertain about a recommended procedure for your mouth, GET A SECOND OPINION. Don't just blindly accept what any doctor or dentist says. They are only human and they make mistakes, sometimes on purpose so they can make a lot of money off of you while you suffer like I have.

I just read this low rating for Dr. Sharon Witzu, & I think you are are nuts. I have been going to Sharon for years. She is the best Dentist I have ever been to. I am having extensive work done on me to restore my teeth. I needed a root canal & I only trust her to do it. She saw me New Years eve for an emergency. Who would do that? No other Dentist I know. When she gives me needles she pre- freezes me & puts the needles in very slow so it is pain free. I went back to my old Dentist after seeing Sharon & asked why he did not give needles the way Sharon did. He said , he did not know I needed special attention. I told him everyone needs special attention. Sharon will give you that attention. My husband has been going there as long as I have been.
