Totally over freezes me every time. He even admits to it. He would rather have you feel no pain frozen for 10 hrs once. Annoying . I have changed dentists. As for workmanship he knows his stuff. If you don’t mind being frozen for 10 hrs than this is the dentist for you!!

Very pleasing experience with knowledgeable staff. Very welcoming and came up with an extensive strategy on the spot with one glance at my xrays to tackle my cavities. His staff followed through with this plan thoroughly. Great work an fillings; apparently I may hold a record... Thank you.

Learn from my experience! Go somewhere else and dont go to this dentist! I had my tooth implant spent $3000 for a very bad looking crown! Never going back to lorne acheson! He only cares about the money!

It’s all about the MONEY. The dentist was NOT FRIENDLY. Dr.Lorne Acheson offered me treatment, and when I asked him about it, he seemed busy and not having time for me. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME THERE.

It’s actually super concerning reading all of these negative reviews. I also have not had a good experience with Dr. Acheson but what worries me most is that he is STILL practicing and STILL abusing his authority by taking advantage of his patients. I would recommend anyone who has had a negative experience to report it to office@manitobadentist.ca and hopefully our voices will be heard.

I endorse all that the previous reviewer wrote.

I was a new patient of Dr. Acheson, he said that I had a cavity in one tooth, and he would need to do a filling on that tooth, and also one the adjacent tooth otherwise I would get a cavity on that one too. He then asked his assistant to book an appointment for me, and went away. I found weird that he didn’t care to explain much to me, in particular since I have no filling. Not to mention the filling on the adjacent tooth to avoid the cavity from spreading.

I went to home for the holidays and went to my old dentist, who explained to me that I had a small deminiralzation due to the shape of that teeth, something that could be reversed with a interdental toothbrush, nothing that could possibly justify digging a whole in it. I mean, nothing but the money that one would receive from the insurance or from me.

A word of advice for anyone seeing Dr. Acheson and being told you need fillings and crowns galore... GET A SECOND OPINION!!! I was becoming weary of Dr. Acheson's intentions after every cleaning I was being told I needed some form of dental work. Well, after my last cleaning with him I was told I need 3 fillings. I consider myself to practice good oral hygiene... I floss, brush using special toothpaste, use expensive mouthwash... but it was never good enough. They wanted to book me for the 3 fillings but instead I went to get a second opinion from 2 different dentists at other clinics, and guess what? They both told me there were no cavities to be filled. Since then I have now switched dentists to one that is super caring and gentle - she even told me I have amazing teeth which is nice to hear after trying my best to take care of them. She actually spends TIME with me at my checkups, talking to me and asking me questions. So, anyone who is seeing Dr. Acheson or another dentist, and are feeling a bit suspicious of their intentions... I would recommend you at least get a second opinion. There are so many other amazing dentists in this city. Life is too short to stay with the same old rough, money-hungry dentist just because you've been seeing them since you were a child (that's me). Go see another dentist who actually cares about you as a person and doesn't just look at you like a money bag. Go to a dentist who will actually TALK to you and spend time talking about preventative oral hygiene. I am telling you this because I wish someone had told me this years ago, before all of the crowns and fillings that I now suspect I never needed.

I have been seeing Dr. Acheson for 12 years. His practice has grown a lot during the time I have been seeing him. Initially I was impressed that he didn't recommend anything that didn't need to be done but as time has gone on I can see that he really is quite money hungry and tells you that you need something costly and just goes ahead and makes an appointment without asking about your financial situation or give you options. His response is "you've got a plan.... they should cover it ". In addition he is always late for my appointments and lose pay from my job for having to stay overtime for my procedure. No longer impressed and am looking for a new dentist.

Not only a bad dentist, but a very horrible person! This man is late Every morning, showing his lack of respect for his patients time. All he ever wants to do is crowns for everything. Never any other options. And I've seen this guy treat his staff like absolute garbage! Why anyone would go to him OR work for him is beyond me!
