Dr. Oepen is the one who saved my life!!! I will be forever eternally grateful for his expertise, compassion and caring.

this doctor hands down is rude. hes very arrogant thinks he knows everything and really doesn't seem to care what you have to say. its his way never mind what you feel. if you need a caring doctor look elsewhere

My cardiologist called Dr. Oepen to discuss a change in Medication the she 100% approved of and suggested I use. I was taking a medication that cost $880 a month and my insurance company gave me grief and delayed having it filled to the point that after two years I just gave up on it and stopped trying to get it filled. Plus his office staff was always rude and uncooperative each time I tried to get forms the insurance company said they needed. The staff would argue with me and tell me I did not need the what the insurance company just told me. They acted like I was bothering them while they were talking among themselves. Very rude and uncooperative. Dr. Oepen got very short when I was trying to explain how I needed this medication. It was like I was questioning his almighty knowledge and told me to get my cardiologist to write the prescription is I wanted it and walked away from me I was the patient and I was certainly acting more professional than he. Instead of helping his patient he didn't want to hear what my Cardiologist and myself had to say about my well being. My Cardiologist called my Internest and discussed my problem with him and they agreed and wrote my script same day. Dr.Oepen did not listen to me, the patient or try to help the situation. He clearly doesn't listen to his patients, actually his customers. I canceled my next appointment and will never go back.

I have been treating with Dr. Godehard Oepen for the past several years and have not found him to be anything like what these other people are saying. Every time I see him he is very concerned with how I'm doing and listens to what I have to say. He spends a great deal of time listening. Maybe it's just a personality thing, but I like Dr. Oepen and would recommend him to anybody. I think he is extremely knowledgeable and very caring.

I normally don't write reviews, but I had to speak up once I read all of the nasty things that people have been posting.

This has got to be the most arrogant, rude, unprofessional, and unsympathetic doctor I have ever been to! I cannot understand why Alabama Psychiatry allowed this man to one of their directors and now I am so disappointed to find out that Grayson and Associates has hired him. First of all, this doc put me on dangerously high levels of medication which caused me all kinds of digestive problems. It could have done much more damage to me if I hadn't insisted on coming off of the meds. Now I've had to spend the last couple of years going to a GI doc for all of the gut issues which I believe this medication caused. The medication was causing some horrific symptoms and he refused to believe me. Instead, he wanted to argue with me over the medication and how knowledgeable he is because he worked at a Harvard Hospital, a fact he brought up every time I saw him. Whatever you do, don't disagree with him on anything or you will get a lecture on how educated he is and on all the publications that he has written. He emphatically said he knew that my symptoms could not be coming from the meds. Yet, I had googled the meds and found out that every symptom I was having was clearly a side effect of it. When I was at my lowest point mentally, this man literally attacked me with his scathing words There was no sympathy or concern for my well being, even though he knew I was close to being suicidal. He talks down to you and has a very superior attitude. What an irony this is, a man who has all the signs of a a classic narcissist is treating mental patients. It's past time for him to see a psychiatrists himself! I cannot say enough about what an awful person he is and how confusing it is that he is still being allowed by reputable psychiatric services to practice psychiatry. He needs to be have his license stripped from him! Please everyone, stay away from this doc.

Switched drs was misdiagnosed by him once off of the 6 meds he put me on I'm finally feeling alive again. Question authority don't hesitate to seek out a second opinion. Lost several years over medicated. Apparently that's not uncommon he thought he was helping meanwhile he was prescribing a medical straight jacket. At the same time he has helped thousands apparently it's just the complainers that post on this site, excluding the ect patient of course.

He is a terrible person who takes all your self esteem , strength, and hopefulness away. He is rude, unkind, and hard. He should not be working in this job. He is horrible.

I saw Dr. Oepen for a second opinion. He is German, and kept using terms like you "Americans". He seemed to fell superior to Americans, only talked about his books and publications he had written. I felt I wasted my time leaving work early for the appointment also, the copay to see him. I would not recommend him.

This man should never treat a patient again I have lost a child and he told me I should be over it by now... Who gets over the loss of a child you get through the loss of a child or loved one. My Dr left the practice and I was given the first available Dr based on going every six months I should have left the appointment based on his insults to me and unprofessional knowledge and dignoses that is not recognized in by the medical community per my research online. What this Dr said and his behavior today was Malpractice. This man is a horrible communicator and has no clue what he is doing. Never Never seek any help from this Dr.
