I am a 91 year old male who is extremely hard of hearing. I have had several issues over the years but have never received an answer as to why each one exists. My daughter recommended I see Dr. Kanowitz and made an appointment for me while I was visiting from Florida. Dr. Kanowitz completed a thorough exam, explained why the issues I have exist and what I can do to work on correcting them. I finally have some answers that I believe make sense. I would recommend Dr. Kanowitz without reservation.

I've been seeing Dr. Kanowitz after years and years of suffering with sinus problems. He has helped me immensely. My chronic issue is 100% better. This after 9 different surgeries. He is knowledgeable and ahead of some other ENTs.

This place has turned into a ear tube assembly line. If you go here you are just a paycheck. The staff has little regard for patient appointment times. My wife was asked to come in earlier than her scheduled appointment then waited 1hr20min in the waiting room, And an additional 45min of waiting once initially talked to. Kanowitz was in and out of the room within 8 min rushing through his standard speech. I recommend getting a second opinion as the doctor has contradicted himself post surgery. Good luck!

Dreadful experience . Another reviewer mentioned "cattle call" and that is spot on .. Kanowitz is a smug, unpleasant little man who I felt listened to nothing I said . He didn't help at all and it turns out that my medical problem was no that complicated ( I say that now after being treated with respectand dignity by someone in another practice) .. Seeing Kanowitz was complete waste of time . There are other ENTs in the Morristown area who you should see . Please, take my word for it, Dr Kanowitz is everything that is wrong with doctors today.

Dr. Kanowitz was only 30 minutes behind schedule due to an earlier appointment running late and apologized profusely stating that it wasn't the normal for him to be running behind. He was extremely professional, very quick with answers and very understanding and helpful. He had a ton of awards on the walls and I could see why. I went to him for a basic nasal checkup due to a deviated septum that I thought I had. His first approach wasn't to just straight to surgery, he prescribed some nasal sprays and told me to come see him in a month for an allergy test and a follow up. He wanted to make sure all routes were taken to get me better which I think is great traits of a doctor. Will completely recommend!

Dr Kanowitz was recommended by my daughter's pediatrician and has been treated by him for the past 3 years. He performed two ear tube surgeries and removed her adenoids. I found Dr Kanowitz to be very professional and extremely caring with an excellent bedside manner when dealing with a nervous 2 year old. My daughter began his care at age 2 and was just released from his care at age 5 1/2. Dr. Kanowitz was one of the few doctors my daughter loved and looked forward to going to see. I would highly recommend him for children in the future.

Dr. Kanowitz was recommended by my daughter's doctor because she has had problems with her tonsils. Went with my 19 year old daughter who was very anxious about the whole process. Dr. Kanowitz came in, didn't make eye contact with either of us. Began asking questions and then repeating the answers into a voice recorder on the computer. It was very robotic and impersonal. He did nothing to put my daughter at ease and, in the end, recommended prescription mouthwash. Very disappointed. No bedside manner at all.

If you go to him, always get a second opinion. My husband was treated and misdiagnosed by Kanowitz for over 6 months. First it was sinus problems, then he was told his problems were from a deviated septum and needed surgery which he did. Getting worse by the day (difficulty swallowing, severe mucus, and pain) I was advised by a friend to take him to a Manhattan hospital where they on the spot told us he had throat cancer. They were in disbelief that he had undergone such extensive testing in Morristown and the most obvious diagnosis was not found. My husband died a horrible death 3 years ago from that cancer at age 65. He was a fit, healthy, never smoked young vibrant man that may have still been here with his family but for the unforgivable mistakes of this doctor. We all make mistakes, but this one took my husbands life.

I chose to see Dr Kanowitz based on some favorable reviews here, but after seeing him, I have to wonder who wrote the positive reviews ... Dr Kanowitz is robotic and cold - I stood to shake his hand as he entered the examining room, and he walked right past and sat at his computer - a bad start ... And things only got worse as he read thru a rehearsed set of questions, not even allowing me to finish my answer before moving to the next . The entire practice seems like they treat patients like cattle ....... I don't need to be friends with my doctor, but he was not helpful, or even open to helping me .. I have never written a bad review, but I wanted to do so here because of the mistake I made by going to him based on other reviews . Dr Kanowitz came across as a very uncompassionate person.
