Doctor seems OK albeit his equipment is quite antiquated. When I have taken our Dr. he was pretty punctual, but when my wife has taken her she has always waited at least 30 minutes. That said this Dr. would be bearable, but the kicker is his reception and billing staff which during our last 'almost' visit was extremely rude, not understanding and unwilling to do a little extra. Hectic schedule with 2 kids and my wife did not give me our daughters medical card (which by the way has not changed since her birth), so when I get there they have to have the 'same' card that they have copied the last 5 visits. My wife called for the referral a week prior as she always does and after a whole 10 seconds of looking for it, they declared they did not have it and the DR. could not see our daughter. So, I got a number from our insurance company for them to call for a one-time on the spot referral and after telling the lovely lady this, her eyes rolled back in her head like I was making it up and stated she would not call the number and they needed a 'referral' since they were 'specialists'. I replied that I was sorry that calling a number must be so difficult for her and that I certainly wouldn't expect them to do something 'special' even though they are specialists. BEWARE - not worth the stress - plenty of other ENT's out there.

My family and I have gone to Dr. Rafalko for many years and wouldn't consider going to anyone else.

I was recently in Dr. Rafalko’s office for ear and sinus infections as well as a problem with my eye being sunken in and the pupil being smaller. Although it was obvious to everyone who saw me recently that there was a problem and I complained to him of excruciating pain behind my eyeball, he told me that there was nothing wrong with my eye and he arrogantly dismissed the idea. Just as he dismissed me, I dismissed him with your poor interpersonal skills and lack of knowledge. I went to another doctor who immediately knew what was wrong. The diagnosis for what I have is Bernard Horner’s Syndrome which is a fairly serious condition. Log on to http://www. healthscout.com/ency/68/488/main.html for information on this condition.
