If you want "care" from a doctor who does not listen to your concerns, will actually argue with you about your concerns, is very condescending, rude, will not introduce himself to you, will literally rush you in and out like the building is on fire, then please schedule an appt. with Dr. Oppenheim asap. He's unprofessional with the worst bedside manners I've ever encountered from a physician. I figured he looks good on paper so I would give him a go. WRONG MOVE! Wish I had read these reviews earlier.

AWFUL! My mother has been having chronic problems for a week now with her ears where she is throwing upa nd off balance. She spent the night at the hospital, after hearing all this you would think this doctor would move his tail and not make my mother wait over an hour. It's ridiculous. The sad part he is rated as one of the top washingtonian doctors but lacks customer service. i have never been to a doctor's office that has so many posted rules. If you staff don't have the curteous to talk to patients then don't hire them. You are in the hospitalitiy business.

Dr. Oppenheim has a serious of mixed ratings and my (2) visits with hime were also mixed. I have sleep apnea and the 1st MD I was referred to was a madman. Then my dentist referred him to me on the recommendation that he performed excellent surgery on his son. My first visit with Dr. Oppenheim was uneventful. He was cold and impersonal. He examined me and diagnosed that surgery was not necessary and to continue using my apnea sleep therapy. I was happy about that because the 1st MD was too eager to carve me up for Thanksgiving. Although he was a little cold, he was a gentlemen. Well 2 years went by and I had to return to have my sleep apnea equipment prescription renewed. During this session, he was warm, interested, examined me, asked me the right questions and took the time just to chat. It was a real pleasure speaking with him. I suspect he must have hard days and it reflects in his bedside manner. Dr. Oppenhiem is rated one of the best ENT's in Northern Virginia.

Had no diagnosis for my symptoms. All through the examination he kept muttering to himself "cat scan would be better" (after he saw my x-rays). He never ordered any tests at all. I've been to him on 2 occasions for different problems and he solved neither. My advice: find someone more competent.

He was SO great! I searched for a new ENT when my previous doctor had told me the symptom I was complaining about was all in my head and I needed Xanax. Dr. Oppenheim diagnosed me within minutes, and come to find out the previous doctor had misdiagnosed me and inserted tubes in my ears that were not necessary. Although Dr. Oppenheim could not offer a cure for my problem, he believed me, explained it and almost sympathized even. I highly recommend him for anyone!

Dr Oppenheim performed surgery at Inova on my very badly impacted sinuses and polyps. After suffering 14 years of many misdiagnoses he gave me my life back. He was affable and kind. I had no negative experiences with him. Regarding previous reviews, why anyone would expect an Otolaryngist to behave like a Psychologist is beyond me. If you feel anxious or forgetful and need a Psych, go book one. Leave Dr O to do the job for which he studied to operate on people like me!

I recently went to Dr Oppenheim for a chronic sinus infection. He did not do anything to help me and immediately recommended surgery after only visiting him twice. On my third visit to him, he introduced himself to me as if I were a new patient and I had to remind him that I was there to review the results of the CT scan that he had ordered for me at my last visit. It freaked me out that he didn't even look over my chart prior to coming into the examining room. But, yet he was eager to operate on me as soon as possible. He has zero personality and doesn't seem to really care about identifying the root of the problem. I decided not to let him operate on me and to find a more qualified doctor who would not only fix the problem but also find out cause. Luckily, I am now seeing an excellent doctor at Georgetown U. who is taking a very proactive and involved approach with me in making sure that I get the care that I need. I wouldn't recommend this doctor to anyone that wants to get better!

I was a little worried to bring my 9 month old to Dr. Oppenheim after reading some of these reviews, but I'm very happy with how everything turned out. We were able to get in for the initial visit quickly - most other pediatric ENTs had a 6 week long wait. Dr. Oppenheim was efficient and professional. My baby ended up having tubes inserted, and Dr. Oppenheim did a wonderful job. If you are looking for a touchy-feely doctor, he probably isn't going to be a good fit. But he is professional and very skilled at what he does. Overall, we were very happy with him.

Dr. Oppenheim has been my ENT specialist for over 10 years now and I think he is great. He has performed 4 surgeries on me that have nearly restored my hearing to a normal level after I was practically deaf. He has always been helpful and polite and really made me feel comfortable, even going in there when I was only 10 years old.

I brought my 7 year old to see him recently and the staff actually told me that he is good with children. I was quite unhappy with his bedside manner when he examined my son. He did not seem to care and my son being a bit scare of the situation did not help. He did not really give us any reason why my son is having sinus problem and there is no suggestion for treatment.
