He is a wonderful person/surgeon. Great bed side manors. He truly cares about his patients. As far as I’m concerned, he’s the best in Salinas. I would not hesitate to have him as my surgeon.

Before my surgery, I was given no written instructions or what to expect. Whenever I called the assistant, she was rude and would only reiterate that the doctor had done this procedure hundreds of times. I had to research it for myself. The incision was supposed to be about two inches behind my ear; it’s a meandering scar that left a perpendicular rope-like line that hurts. After nearly two years, the feeling has not returned to a portion of my face and my tongue. I went back once; that arrogant man didn’t even come to examine a possible reason. Now, the pains have returned. I’m trying to now get approval from my insurance for a neurosurgeon out of town. When I spoke recently with that doctor’s assistant, she knew that it was Halamandaris who butchered me before I even mentioned his name.

Worst doctor and staff I've ever been to. Doesn't have up to date knowledge, he is very arrogant doctor and doesn't listen to his patients, ignored the entire family which makes it a fraustrating situation for patients, He also is creepy. Not a good surgeon.

Talks with the patient and family not to them. Extremely understanding and compassionate as well as professional! What a wonderful doctor!!

Love this doctor!!! He is compassionate yet very professional. I shattered my L2 into my spinal colum and needed emergency surgery . i had no insurance. The emergency dr in hollister ca called surgeons from san fransisco to king city to find a surgeon will to operate on a uninsured patient. Thats me. Only two Dr were willing to do so and halamandaris was one of them. Rigjt there that says something about his character. He did a excellent job repairing my back. That was over five years ago and as of today iv had no problems and no pain. Ever. I would recommend him to everyone...beside he's a cute cowboy!! How can u go wrong.

My name is frank v Gonzales and Doctor Gus Halamandaris is response able for my walking today he has performed five surgies on me and every one was successful one on my back two on my neck one on alnor nerve or elbow and my wrist after getting hert at the Monterey school distric he has all ways been thier he is the best for me and a lot of others. The very worst in communication, both the physician and his staff. Both lie and tell you that YOU don't remember properly. And, I DON'T have a mind/brain problem. Wouldn't communicate with either myself, nor the Radiologist from Stanford who was trying to help me. Dr. Halamandaris didn't even bother to call me after my PT-Scan to discuss the results. He just had his staff try to refer me to UCSF, without even discussing it with me, nor my Dr. at Stanford. They said I could wait 3 weeks for an appointment to discuss the results with the Dr., if I wanted to, as though that were unusual to want to discuss your scan results!! He just wants to do AS LITTLE AS POSSIBLE without ANY contact with the patients and their families. My friends who work with him at the local hospital warned me about him....said he didn't tell patients anything. They were right! Dr. Halamandaris ordered a CT-Guided biopsy of my tumor, but did not instruct them to use contrast....a BIG waste of money and time. AVOID!!
