Dr St Cyr delivered my first baby. She was always late for appointments (I once sat in the waiting room for over 4 hours at 38 weeks pregnant), and I always felt rushed and that she wasn't listening to my concerns during appointments at all. When my son was born, she had me start pushing long before I felt my body needed to, so I pushed for nearly 3 hours. Towards the end, I had a nurse repositioning me on the bed, another trying to put an oxygen mask on me, and St Cyr getting out the vacuum (non of which had been explained to me; up until this point I thought things were going well). When I questioned what she was doing and said I didn't want her to use the vacuum, she commented "so if something happens you don't want me to save your baby?" My husband stepped in and she finally explained that the baby's heart rate was dropping because he wa stuck on my pelvic bone. Once I changed position he was fine. She also froze me while I was pushing so I wouldn't feel any tearing, which made tearing worse. It wasn't until a few weeks later that I realized she had performed an episiotomy without my consent. When the freezing wore off while she was stitching me, she insisted I couldn't feel anything (I most certainly could!) She left the room right after my son was born and I never saw or heard from her again.

I had a midwife with my next two babies and it wasn't until I had such a good experience with her that I realized how traumatic my first birth was.

Love Dr St Cyr. All these negative comments I feel are fake or over exaggerated. They all have the same wording and same issue.
Yes you do have to wait but all that means is she’s giving the time needed to each patient. She has delivered all my nieces and nephews. And not one of us had an issue. I had my daughter 9 years ago and am no pregnant again with my second and did not hesitate to go see her again! Can’t wait to see her next week!
