I have always said she is one of the best doctors in Grand Rapids for diagnosis and treatment. You did not have to go back 3-4 times to get your health back.I am sad to see she is retiring, but very happy for her. See you in NC or SC Dr. Pell.

Switched to a new doctor after seeing Dr. Pell for a few years, as she always seems extremely rushed and wants you to set up separate appointments for every minor question you have. I didn't feel like there was any concern or compassion there for my well-being, and felt more like I was wasting her time. She IS intelligent and knowledgeable, but apparently way overbooked or high-strung!

She couldn't tell me what was wrong. She was not compassionate. She left the room without saying goodbye or explaining the"diagnosis". A nurse came in and gave me a shot and told me I was getting put on an antibiotic for the unknown ailment. I arrived at my pharmacy to find TWO prescriptions waiting. The pharmacist instructed me on what I was taking and why. We also discovered that because of the shot I couldn't start or scrip until the next day.....seems like pertinent info my doc should have shared. I will be finding a new doc.

Dr. Pell has been my primary care physician for about 9 year now. I understand some of the comments made earlier about the office being a little late with appointments and Dr. Pell seeming rushed sometimes when meeting with a patient - both have happened to me as well. Things have gotten a little better as Dr. Pell now has 2 PA's that assist and she has two MA who help too. I heard in recent years she was required to carry a large caseload as she is tied to the hospital and not private practice - they dictate her case load. On the other hand, Dr. Pell is VERY knowledgable and does well with evaluations, diagnosis and treatment. I find her timely on test results and med changes. I thought of changing a few years back, but our current medical system is not getting better with volume of patients and PCP, but worse. I say talk to the doctor on your issues/concerns. I believe Dr. Pell will respond. She did to me. She is well received by other doctors too. Great with referrals when needed.

I used to love this doctor and then something serious went wrong with my health. I was in alot of pain and very scared of the unknown. Not only was she rude but she couldnt seem like se cared less. Not how a doctor should make u feel. I went to her again a time later thinking maybe i was harsh but i guess i wasnt. Their office is very uncompassionate. I think she is too overbooked and busy to listen or care about patients!

Dr. Pell is a great physician. Her staff tends to overbook her time. But when she gets to you, she won't rush you and listens to your concerns. She genuinely cares about her patients health. If the problem is out of her knowledge base, she isn't embarrassed to admit that a specialist needs to be consulted. She rocks!
