Dr. Virick is an amazing doctor, he genuinely cares about his patients and listens. My grandfather and him are very close friends, he treated him, my mother, now me and next my children. I have never once doubted this man, and I certainly do not believe the false bs gossip that is said about him. Never once had ever tried to push a prescription that I didn’t need on me, some people are just hateful for saying things like that. He is an excellent physician and he really cares, treats his patients like family!

One of Cape Breton's Best Doctors ever. He saved my leg! He has been my doctor for 22 years now...I seldom need a doctor but when I do, I prefer to go see Dr. V if possible. When I first saw him 22 tears ago, over a horrible leg injury that went septic, (non diabetic) he saved my leg by prescribing a powerful antibiotic, and supporting my desire for a more holistic approach, rather than opting for just taking it off like another doctor wanted to do. At that time, I was not yet with a permanent resident status, I had NO medical coverage, and he treated me AND gave me the antibiotics without charge...For that I will Defend him and be forever grateful!!! When I told him I do not want "drugs" he respects that, and has never scripted me for narcotic like drugs for pain or whatever. He has truly been a gift to Sydney, especially to Native Communities here, in my opinion. Because he is the Doctor of choice for so many, sometimes there is a long wait to see him, but his waiting area is comfortable with a very patient friendly, social like atmosphere.

My Nan was not one for doctors but I always heard her talk abt Dr Verick, always, in a positive way...always thought he was her family doctor :) Have been seen by him on numerous occasions and feel his is very knowledgable & knows how to treat his patients. Don't judge a man or his profession on gossip, he is a healer, def not a doctor known for writing addictive scripts...we see those mistakes made in the paper and on the news, Dr Vericks name should not be slandered, shame on you for making such allegations on this site. State the facts please, and not on one or two persons experiences..unbelievable anyways but I felt the need to speak out. I appreciate Dr Verick and his staff!!!

This doctor is outstanding as a person and as a doctor. I protest the comment written below noting he is responsible for many addictions. Nothing is further from the truth. He has to be the best doctor I have seen in my 71 years of living.

The island of Cape Breton should take a step back and realize how lucky the are to have Dr. Virick. An absolute gem.

I didn't like how I was treated by this Doctor, I went in to get a refill and he wasn't nice at all, made me feel upset. Will never go back.
