Dr Gelber is so rude and arrogant. He didn't help me at all. He is lazy, didn't want to fill out forms. Has no understanding of anxiety or ocd. He doesn't really listen to the patient. I can't say enough bad things about this "doctor".

Dr. Stephen Gelber is an unbelievably rude doctor. How this can continue on for YEARS is beyond me. Isnt their any oversight into how patients are treated? Nobody is perfect , and we have our good days and bad days. But this is one to STEER CLEAR AWAY! from. Your welcome.

stephen gelber is a disgusting piece of human trash. it is completely insane this psychopath is a doctor working in mental heath. if you are seeing this guy stop immediately and count yourself lucky he didn't lie on mental health forms and have you locked up without your consent.

what kind of a doctor (or any other profession) is always late? the kind that has no empathy or sympathy for people. who does he think he is? gelber is a fraud.

if you're suffering from depression or any other mental health issue, the best medicine you can give yourself, is to avoid selfish narcissist people like gelber.

They deleted my old comment so I am just retyping my comment here. Stephen Gelber openly talked about my information without my permission to another client right in front of me. Not only did he do this But I booked an appointment for 8 am and my options were either 8 am about 2 months prior to that appointment or I had to wait close to 4 to 5 months so I choose the 8am appointment. But I informed him that he can't be late because I don't know if I have an exam that day because the day he told me about I informed him was exam period for my college I still have my emails if he says I'm lying about this I'm happy to bring this up.

He didn't respond to my messages to reschedule until the day before and said that if I don't attend he will just charge me $50.

My appointment was at 8am Stephen came in at 9:30 am and assisted 2 other patients before me. I asked the patient at the time about what time their appointment was and she said it was at 9:30 am for the first patient he assisted before me.

This cause me to miss the exam that I had in College, when I brought this up about my messages to him when I asked him to come on time for our 8am appointment he just waved it off because it didn't affect him.
Stephen has almost no sense of punctuality and professionalism if he doesn't feel the need to help you.

I had Stephen as a doctor for almost 6 years and I kept informing in for almost 4 of those years that the ADHD medication called Strattera that he was assigning to me would cause me to vomit and that I was trying to get another type of medication.

Only after he thought that I might move to another doctor did he decide to assign me a new medication for ADHD specifically Vyvanse.

I’ve been seeing dr gelber for about 2 years now and may i say he is awesome. I see quite a bit of reviews saying this like hes trying to push meds instead of alternative methods but he is in fact a doctor not a naturopath, psychologist or social worker. He has consistently been amazing and for those of you looking for whos genuinely going to help you this is where you should be looking.

Absolutely filthy human being. Before mentioning what he said, it is worth mentioning how he expressed it: He yelled like a neurotic vulgar trashy person you'd find drunk in a bar.
Now what he said? He yelled at me for showing up for anxiety/depression. He told to only come back if i have psychosis. Wow! Also he doesn't answer questions about medications, refused to assess me for a note that i am ready for a procedure. He only wants a patient he can commit to a psyc ward, God forbid the treatment anyone would receive under his watch!
As a human, he is the lowest creature alive.
As a doctor, he is a clown.
Not worth seeing at all!
I swallowed my pride to remain polite, but here you go Dr, the truth comes out some how! And better in public so people know who you are

it's been 5 years since i saw this guy. 5 years ago he did something that completely shattered my trust in him, not just as a doctor, but i wouldn't even trust him as another human. and i couldn't trust another psychiatrist either after what he did. so it's been another 5 years i live with this depression, ptsd

i don't have proof, but i strongly believe that he locked me inside hospital without my consent, wasn't to help me. it was so that he didn't have to worry that i might kill myself while he's on holiday. and he never even bothered to followed up with me. that's sort of like proof to me that he didn't care about me at all.

why be a doctor if you don't care about your patients, stephen? sometimes i think about suicide, what's the point of living? world seems to be filled with narcissists like you in positions of power. what you did to me i consider it abuse. locking me up without my consent like that, completely triggered my ocd and anxiety like the most extreme ever. what you did actually makes me want to suicide more. and you said you'd help me

why you such a liar stephen? i did nothing to you.

Dr. Gelber is completely incompetent. Prescribed medications based on a one minute evaluation. He’s a pill pusher.

In my humble opinion, stephen gelber is at best, negligent & incompetent. At worst, a narcissist fraud that made it through med school.

when this pretty female med student was in his office with us, some kind of "shadow a Doctor" arrangement, gelber was kind, friendly, and thoughtful.

But when it was just me and him one time, after I told him about some self harm thoughts, he covered his face with both palms and made a disappointed sigh sound. I asked him about ECT, then the visit ended, wasn't long. Like he had somewhere else to be. He didn't want to listen more but told me to return the next day. I thought it's more about ECT, but instead, he signed some forms and locked me inside hospital without my consent for 3 days. During the 3 days, I suffered from extreme anxiety, more then I've ever felt. Nurses were rude, didn't listen to my pleas to get out. After I got out, gelber never followed up with me afterwards. And I was too paranoid and afraid to go see him, in case he would lock me up without my consent again.

how does someone like gelber work in the metal health profession? i don't know but what an irony, a mental health pro, has caused me more anxiety than I have ever felt. Then he seemingly just forgot about me.

I let you be the judge if you want him as your doctor.
