My son has seen Dr. Mahaffey and her staff for 12+ years and I would never use another Pediatrician. Her PA is also wonderful. For 12 years, with an asthmatic son I have never been treated rudely. Dr. Mahaffey truly cares for her patient's, makes phone calls on weekends and I do believe she never has a day off. Kudos Doc!

Dr. Mahaffey is the warmest, most patient doctor I could of ever hoped for to be my daughter's pediatrician. We came to Dr. Mahaffey in 2002 when my daughter was a colicky baby. We tried so many pediatricians and all of the other doctors seemed annoyed with her crying and fussiness. Dr. Mahaffey just hung out with her until my daughter calmed down, talking sweetly to her and gently engaging her. Her warmth and patience soothed my daughter and me!

We're new to area& another doc referred Dr. Mahaffey to us. I think that says a lot about a person's professional reputation when someone else in the field respects them. I found Dr. Mahaffey SO warm, playful & kind. My son is 4 w impossible anger & proceeded to have a ten degree tantrum when examined. She acted unfazed and (to my GREAT relief!!), nonjudgmental. She told about having a 21 yr-old autistic son and was helpful in speeding up and amending the exam. .... I read in other comments that her staff members were rude; I struggled btw giving them a 3 or 4 rating of my own also. They were certainly not rude at all-- just apathetic. They failed to be welcoming, and the nurse acted put out when my son didn't cooperate fully. While the "back of the house" staff seemed indifferent, the front desk gal came off as curt, yet professional. When we later engaged her in conversation, though, she was very nice... The staff can improve, but Dr. Mahaffey's already the best!!

Dr.Teresa Mahaffey is the best Pediatric docotor on the Gulf Coast. She can never be replace. My kids went to her from the very first day she open and have been there every since. She treats us and everyone else in her office with alot of respect;therefore who ever got treated with disrepect must have deserved it. Because Dr. Mahaffey does not have a rude bone in her body. So maybe the person who felt mistreated must have had a bad attitude and she corrected because she does not tolorate foolishness in her office. As far as me and my family we will continue to support Growing Child Pediatric's because they are the best in the Gulf Coast and nobody or nothing can replace them. Shout of to Dr. Mahaffey and staff for being the best in the State of Florida and as far as I am concerened the best in the world.

I absolutely loved Dr. Mahaffey and her office! She and her staff were so great with my 2 boys. She was VERY thorough and always took the time to ensure that I was comfortable with the visit and what she was telling me. The only reason we are not still seeing them is because we moved to Texas.

Dr. Mahaffey has been my son's physician for the past 7 years. I have nothing but positive thoughts on her and her staff. She is very personable, thorough, knowledgeable, and I feel truely cares. They always go above and beyond what is expected. Calls after hours to check on my child have been the rule, not the exception. I trust her explicitly and do not look forward to the day that I have to find another Physician for my son.

Great doctor! Very knowlegeable, helpful, and kind. Seems quite genuine in concern for my child. Office is a little slow, but gets the job done.

I had to comment after reading the first rating. We have had exact opposite experiences and have used Mahaffey for YEARS. Her staff, though overworked as are all staffs, is excellent. Her Nurse Practioner is very good and personable (she sees all routine checkups) and Dr. Mahaffey is very knowledgeable, approachable and friendly. She has never treated me any differently because we were Medicaid. She has never treated me as if a question I asked was stupid. She takes plenty of time with each patient, which is why, I suspect, we are in her office waiting way too long. To me, to have a doctor whom I trust and who treats me as close to an equal in discussing my children's health is worth the tradeoff of a long stay in the waiting room.

VERY horrible staff - rude, and they are evasive when we corrected them on an incorrect insurance filing. They charge a LOT, and then you are shuffled off to the nurse practitioner. The MD is never seen - very, very poor situation. I have never been treated as rudely as we were in this office. We tried multiple times to work it out - there is no working it out. Avoid!
