It has been many years and our child is grown and for the most part healthy. However, as a child she misdiagnosed strep throat, insisting he only had a cold. After several months of visits with fever spiking to 105, only under extreme persistance did she finally do blood work. He had a serious infection through his system. He ended up with rheumatic fever and damage to his heart valve, nearly dying. Additionally she told us he had a "tummyache" when he had acute appendexitis. Thank goodness my husband had been an EMT and called her on it. We found her to be arrogant and dangerously dismissive.This may have been two examples of "bad luck" on our part.
