Misdiagnosed by Schwartz. I wish I could warn everyone how inconsiderate he is and just wants money. I would never allow anyone I know to go to him. He made my neck worse and he didnt even care. He just wanted money to perform surgery which he messed up. i wish i could sue but how these days!!!???

Dr. Schwartz performed a fusion on my neck in 2006. I have a rare deformity called Klippel Feil. In 2008 my primary care doctor had an MRI taken and felt I needed a followup evaluation done by Dr. Schwartz, but they refused to give me an appt. By the time I got back in to see him it was 2010 and I was in severe pain. He ordered physical therapy but I went to a substandard office and when I asked for another RX so I could go to a good therapy service, he blew me off and told me to have my primary care doctor handle it. I have never been non-compliant on doctors orders, missed an appt, didn't pay or anything. I don't know why he shows such indifference to his patients.

Dr.Schwartz succesfully preformed a frontal craniotomy on me following an auto bycicle accident. However he misdiagnosed a malignant tumor in the back of my skull as an "older healed fracture". I understand that people make mistakes and that Dr Schwartz was more concerned with the obvious multiple new fractures in my head rather than one "healed" fracture away from the impact site. He saved my life and for that I am thankfull. However when I was properly diagnosed six years later and my Oncologist said there was "no reasonable excuse" to diagnose my cancer as a "healed fracture". I could have followed the standard American protocal and sued him but I thought it better to try and avert another mistake and share this information with Dr Schwatrz. When I did Dr.Schwartz was neither apologetic nor understanding infact he was defiant.

Had a microdiscectomy done on L5 less than 24 hours after my initial consultation. Excellent. Months of pain evaporated instantly. St. Marks Hospital staff and Dr. Schwartz and his staff were thoughtful, careful, and professional. My recovery time was fast even though I was overweight and out of shape at the time. His PA encouraged me to do something about that :-) which I have. Thanks Dr. Schwartz.

I had disk L5/S1 removed and was skiing again in 91 days. I never had the least bit of pain after the surgery. He uses a technique where he doesn't cut the muscle but spreads the tissue apart. I was and am still so impressed I can't see straight. My job is ski instructor so returning to my job was important. I am very impressed with him.
