I had Dr. Peter Hatfield for my family doctor when he was at the Public Gardens medical clinic about 10 years ago. I found him to be a very good doctor - harder and harder to find now a days. He was very knowledgeable and straightforward. If you are looking for someone to pat you on the head and chat about the family he is not your guy but if you want a smart, effective no-nonsense doctor then he is exactly who you need.

This was the first time I met him. It was a walk in clinic and he was on duty. Very thorough, caring, and patient. Couldn't of asked for a more caring empathetic man!

I used to live in Halifax and Dr. Hatfield was my doctor. Not only is he one of the most intelligent persons I have ever met; he also taught me a great deal (as he takes the time to explain things and offers reasons for his suggestions). He is a no nosense doctor, so don't expect a lot of attention if you are emotionally charged with silliness.

Dr. Hatfield has an atrocious deskside manner. He may impress himself with his skills as a doctor, but he left me feeling rather insignificant. One gets the impression that he could do a far better job if he put more effort into it.

Dr Hatfield does not seem interested in his patients anymore. I have been with him for many years and see a major difference in his attitude. I'm sure the job is tough however we count on our Dr's to be upbeat and positive. I find I always come out of his office feeling as if I had interrupted his lunch.

I find him to be the rudest Dr. I have ever been too and certainly has a very limited bed side manner, and if you HURT anywhere don't go see him because by the time you come out you will probably HURT a wee bit more. I really dislike this man and his working attitude.

He very quick to prescribe drugs as he did with me. Prescribing me anti-depressants after only a few visits which ultimatley caused other problems for me. His bedside manner is less than personable, it seems on times as if seeing a patient is a waste of his valuable time. He is a knowledgeable Dr. but seems to have lost his motivation for practicing.
