After fighting with my mental health problems for a while with no relief I'm about to give up on you. I am a WAR VETERAN with ptsd and you created a bias about me when I uttered those words. I know that people use the system to their advantage but this has to stop. I am struggling with adhd, depression, and anxiety and the first thing you tell me is go to the psychiatrist ER for help. I have had adhd my whole life and the points I told you are on the dot. So now I have enormous bills from the emergency room just to get help with my adhd because you would not help. I had to call the nurse manager and the director of staff today to explain my situation. I have to bring my own parents to a appointment if I have my last one with you because you put a stigma on me. This is unacceptable care and is against every code of conduct for a doctor. I am a human being that needs help, and you would not even meet me a inch of the way. If things don't change I am done. -Justin

Discharged my son against the recommendation of an independent examiner. Son promptly took his life. Stay away from Dr. Kane if you're looking for help.

I've been seeing Dr. Kane for approx. 7 years for my bipolar disorder. He has been instrumental in my coping with this illness. As a psychiatrist, he focuses on what meds might be helpful in treatment. Psychotherapy is not his specialty, and he can direct patients to other providers for that. Many mental health patients need both types of care . For me, he has been a Godsend.

I loved him at first. Intelligent, nice, we had a lot of common interests... Then I started having major issues with medication. He seemed indifferent, like he really didn't give a ****. I gave him a research paper to read on an issue I thought I might have. He never read it. Sometimes I'll have a list of questions to ask him, I'll get through 1/4 of them, then the conversation shifts to music or something unrelated to mental illness & medication (meanwhile he's getting paid around $100 for that time of 10 minutes).I get the feeling he entered the medical field 100% for $$. He pushes pills like they were candy. If you weighed 500 lbs & went to see him he would probably wouldn't mention diet & exercise, just prescribe you 5 antidepressants. He would make a great friend, but psychiatrist, HECK NO? He asks NO probing questions. Very nice guy but I question his integrity & genuine concern for his patients.

Dr. Kane is a nice man but he doesn't seem very thorough. Most appointments with him are only 10 minutes long. He doesn't seem to be oncerned with improving my health, mental or otherwise. I am the one who suggest tests, not him. His response to my requests is always to ask my other doctor.

Like Dr. Kane very much. He is humanitarian and kind; however, his office staff is very un-cooperative when it comes to schedling appointm.
