Online reviews of this doctor are obviously inflated; see Yelp reviews of his PMA practice which are direct a reflection on him as owner/founder. Dr. Vath is an arrogant bro-douche who shouldn’t be interacting with vulnerable patients (let alone “treating” them). I tried to get treated here after relocating from DC. Like other reviewers, I was rejected as a patient after waiting two months for an appointment (after initiating the search with my PCP two months before that). I could tell in the first 15 minutes of our telemedicine visit that Dr. Vath had already decided he wasn’t going to help me, but the call went on for the full obligatory time, and he waited until the end to say that and recommended some websites for me to research—presumably so that he could collect his full fee (which he did). Both DBT programs Dr. Vath recommended replied immediately to say they weren’t accepting new patients. I called his office back later to see if another doctor at PMA would see me; but a very officious-sounding woman just gave me some garbled, passive aggressive nonsense about “it depends on what is being requested.” I replied “I didn’t request anything beyond help” and hung up before I could cry. This is an extremely irresponsible and unprofessional way to treat people. I am a high-achiever with psychiatric problems trying to be the best person I can be, and *in one hour* this doctor succeeded in making me feel like an unsavory character with dismal future.
