Doctor does not return calls. Doctor takes on too much responsibility. Doctor could not diagnose gall bladder problems nor could he diagnose tachycardia.

Extremely interactive with his patients. He is located in an area that is predominantly indigent or Medicaid patients, so many doctors are leaving or will not practice here. That makes him extremely busy. He still manages to keep track of his patients, labs, follow-ups, and you as an individual. As a D.O, he can offer many alternatives to traditional medicine by an M.D., that affords more chances for relief. His alternatives could help you avoid non-productive surgeries or side effects to traditional pharmaceutical remedies, eventhough he is prepared to offer those traditional therapies if necessary. A D.O. has always had more to offer a patient than an M.D. An M.D. can only offer pills or surgery with no alternative considerations if those remedies do not work. A physician should be liberal enough to consider chiropractic, hollistic medications, massage therapies, and accupuncture as alternative to failing therapies. Dr. Ockenfels practices a happy medium with all of those.
