I visited Dr Communale today May 5th, 2016. I did read the reviews on many differente sites before I visited him. A lot of people said that he is grumpy and that there are cats in the office. Well I did see one cat in his house and it did not come in any of the consulting rooms. As far as being grumpy not at all. Infact he was very jovial with me and my wife. My current insurance provider is Kaiser. I do go to their doctors when I need a checkup but they are either inexperienced or not so helpful. They give you book answers and rely heavily on historical knowledge. I visited Dr Communale primarily for getting a health check up. I really liked Dr Communale and his method of conducting the health checkup. He was very genuine and to the point. He is a really good doctor who has a lot of experience under his belt. He wont just give you a shot or send you to get additional blood work done. I wish there were more doctors like him in the states. He values your time. A true old schooled doctor unlike the quacks you seen nowadays . He knows his art. I am switching from Kaiser to him. In addition his fee was $65 which was very good in the Mclean, VA area. He reminded me of my dad who was also a doctor. I never thought I could find a doctor like him in the states.

Eccentric. Grumpy. Curmudgeonly. And the best diagnostician you will ever meet. If you are looking for a traditional doctor go somewhere else. But if you need to see a doctor on short notice, or if you have an ailment no one else has been able to diagnose, go see him. A colleague of mine wrested with nausea and 30 pound weight loss for almost a year as he went from one high-powered specialist to another who could not diagnose his ailment. One blood test, one visit and Dr. Comunale said: "You have Lyme disease." After the initial treatment he began to get well almost immediately. If you think this is unusual, read the other reviews. The man has an uncanny ability to figure out what's wrong with you. So ignore the grumpiness, the cat, the overweight secretary, and go see the most unusual and able doctor you will ever know.

Upon the advice of my daughter-in-law, I left my primary Physician of many years to start going to Comunale. At first all was OK. He can be gruff, abrasive. On good days he is funny and caring and pretty much tells you like it is. Lately however after being diagnosed with a serious diseaswe and not by him which is a shocker seeing how everyone says he is a great diagnostician, whenever I call for help he has been actually mean. He stops listening to me, cuts in when I am speaking and in a very annoyed voice says things like, "just come in at 2" making me feel really bad. After being upset over his treatment of me that morning, I called and cancelled the appointment. Even if he thinks I am a moron, he needn't treat me like one. I called today for him to call the RX for a refill and he told he gruffly to have them call him. I am scared about my illness and all I want is a Doctor that cares and will help me. I am considering going back to my previous Doctor.

The most cluttered place I've ever seen. You are basically visiting him at home with a bunch of elder hanging out and so much stuff around I barely found a place to sit. It's like a messy museum. Not my kind of idea of a doc office. He diagnosed strep throat without even a swab test... not going back.

I have not seen too many doctors spending the kind of time understanding you and your problems like the way Dr Comunale does. He has a wealth of medical knowledge which cannot be gained by only going to med schools. He diagnosed quiet a few of my issues and my wife's issues which we were struggling with. Please visit him before visiting a specialist as he would give a very practical solution or atleast the right guidance. Cant trust too many Drs these days but him I sure will any day.

very rude and very cranky. never has any patients. i was in one time and the secretary was yelling at someone else in front of everyone to pass her a file because she didnt want to get up. there are never ANY patients there and his time frame is always open. my job wanted paperwork from him and he has refused to give any because he is too lazy and embarrassed me to my coworkers because he was yelling at them.
